In spite of having the Akismet plug-in, which does a relatively good job of separating the bots and spam comments, (although, a few do slip in my comments queue; hence just one reason I still prefer to have comment moderation turned on); I’m often still stuck with the dubious task of erasing them. No biggy if it was a question of 2, 3 , 5 or even 10, but sometimes I get more than a 100 at one time and it does indeed get tedious. Furthermore, I am convinced that they’re bots for the most part rather than actual humans doing the typing.
So, I installed another plug-in at the comments form; one where a captcha code will be needed in order to comment. I believe I have configured the right settings for it, however, since I’m not as techie-geeky as I would like, I may not have installed it properly, or the damned may not work. So, I’m asking all of you, the readers, to leave a comment, even if it just says “test” just to let me know that it works, please? That would be much appreciated. If it doesn’t work or the image is too hard to make out on every try, please email me and explain what kind of issues you had, so that I can correct it.
Thank you and Good Evening!

Bad Behaviour is another good anti-spam program that works in conjunction with Akismet.

Was the captcha code fairly easy to make out?
I just gave up and implemented registration. As you know.

you had that bot and spam issue too, Pogge?
Actually, POGGE, I just took Scott’s suggestion and added Bad Behavior. If the captcha code and Bad Behavior stop working, I just may have to take your queue and put in registration myself.
I’ll see how this goes.
Thank you all for your help and advice! It is, as always, greatly appreciated.
