I Smell a Made-For-TV Movie Or a Danielle Steele-ish Novel

Or both…usually there is some trashy novel with the shorter and trashier version of the movie to come…

This rather long column in the Toronto Star has just all those ingredients for Steele-ish/Collins-esque novel–Trashy made for TV movie of the week. I mean, this kind of thing just writes itself. It is once again, regarding the now fallen royal couple of Harpercon politics.  This explains a plausible theory as to how ol’ Rahim Jaffer got himself that sweetheart deal for drunk driving and coke posession.

Yes, it does seem that when Helena is away, Rahim takes her vehicle and goes out and plays with the big boys in the questionable business world, which take place at some intriguing haunts like strip joints.

Oh yes! It does come complete with criminal activity,  lifestyle of excess, dark murky places, corruption and of course, can’t forget about the manditory high priced call girls.

No wonder Helena Guergis is prone to tantrums and boot tossing!

Yes,  the once royal couple of Harpercon politics are now the gift that just keeps on giving aren’t they? Fodder for the corporate media; catnip for the blogosphere.  Like listening to Neil Diamond or Abba records, I suspect many bloggers , columnists and pundits are looking forward to much more from this couple who by now rival Morticia and Gomez Adams, or Lily and Herman Munster.

The Harpercon’s answer to the Adams Family or the Munsters;
except the R-Rated version!

Oh, it appears that Look at me, I’m Sandra Dee is yet again, shreeking and automatically discounting the column in the Toronto Star without much comprehension of the article, obviously.

Sandra Dee, How did you get from a potential theory for a deal, quite possibly in exchange for Jaffer ratting out his business buddies to Harpercon corruption? It addresses an ex-MP, now disgraced as he should be, making back alley business deals he was in no position to make; NOT a deliberate cover up of that beleaguered sponsorship scandal…only you seem to be fixated on that!

You see Sandra, dear, not everybody is like you, Iceman and Daniel Leblanc and fixated on a 10 year old case where a good portion of its’ players are dead and police who have moved on to different jobs; some out of the country even. Let it go, dear!

Yeessh! I read somewhere that this  prize actually has a PHD?

    CK,

Trying to live up to my promise and leave a comment everyday.

    Guergis/Jaffer are hillarious.

What a load of tosh those two are.

It just exposes Harper’s judgement, in even appointing that silly woman to cabinet in the first place.

We now have Drugs, prostitution, and influence peddling.

Harper and company, are starting to look like morons.

Just as an aside, I agree with all your comments on the maternal health initiative.

You can not put forward a maternal health initiative, that does not include family planning, and access to safe abortions.

The plan will be DOA, because Clinton has alreay indicated that the US does not agree with it.

Other G8 nationa are doing the same.

I am getting real tired of Canada being embarrsed by Harper.

As to the subject at hand, yes a movie with the story of Jaffer/Guergis would be hillarious.

Any thoughts as to who should play them?

    ck Reply:

As to who should play them; hmmm, for Jaffer, I guess, we would have to find some Bollywood type, or maybe that Hispanic dude from Desperate Housewives; the one who plays Eva Longoria’s hubby on the show. As for hurricane helena, another Desperate Housewives alum: Nicolette Sheridan.
