Brian Lilley’s First Televised Show Will Probably be Far Better Rated Than His Regular Fox News North Show

That is, if Fox News North ever gets off the ground! Big City Lib has been keeping tabs and according to him, the launch has been pushed back yet again; with the third time be a charm?  Perhaps they’ve lost interest since the CRTC have backtracked on that whole allowing, well, less than truthful news to air?

Anyway, on Twitter this fine evening, looks like Stephen Taylor is about to begin another fan club; the Brian Lilley fan club. Gee, Steve, hope that doesn’t get in the way of your heading the Stevie Harper admiration society.  Read and weep his tweet for yourselves:

“If people are wondering what Sun News will be like, it’s going to be like Brian Lilley”

Interesting choice of words: “just like Brian Lilley”. Does that mean all the male tv personalities will look like they have their hair cut at a place called Mutt Cutts and that their mommy dresses them?   Come to think of it, so will the female personalities, I’m sure. Will they also play statistician and attempt to dazzle with fancy math as Lilley has done in the past (warning if you click the link; it isn’t pretty)? Does that mean not only extremely bent to the right, but also done with some weird Adams Family-esque kinda manner?

Anyway, Toronto Sun is already reviewing Lilley’s new show called “Byline”. Already doesn’t sound too good. I woulda much rather have seen Andrew Coyne smoke a pipe, or “Lorrie’s Lair” or  ”Rex Murphy’s Wide World of Wrestling” (perhaps even with Don Cherry as commentator). Anyway, here are some spoilers from ‘Byline’ :

Called “Byline,” the hour-long prime-time program will shed light on stories across the country that matter to Canadians, not just political junkies in Ottawa.

“I’ve worked in restaurants, factories and offices in a few different industries. I can tell you when people talk politics on their lunch break it’s rarely about the issues the talking heads on Parliament Hill think are important,” Lilley said. “Canadians are engaged on all kinds of political issues if it affects their lives. That’s what we’ll do on Byline, talk about the stories that matter to Canadians, not the latest blip on the Hill.”

Translation:  what the Master Steve wants Canadians to care about. We all know that what Master Steve cares about, Lilley cares about.   I wonder if Lilley’s continued CBC witch hunts will continue on every tv show?  Smart money says yes.

This, of course, as mentioned above,  if Fox News North ever gets launched.  If  Brian Lilley’s ‘Byline’ ever gets launched,  I think the first episode should start with a bang.  There should be a rerun of the clip below.

Now that would probably be the highest rated episode, and the  FNN series, ‘Byline’ hasn’t even aired yet!

Normally it’s considered foolhardy to lock horns with somebody who buys ink by the barrel, but Mulcair did it with style. I even heard that Coyne was tweeting the Fighting Irishman’s praises.
