Oooh! Shiver me timbers! Pat Martin used the word “Fuck”. Wow! Not like he the first politician to use it publicly. Remember Senator Nancy Ruth’s shut the fuck up moment? And another, more forgettable moment from John the pitbull Baird? Yes, we do let them slide, don’ t we? But not ol’ Pat Martin. I think the reason is quite obvious–because he ain’t a Harpercon. Pure and simple.
Personally, I’ve always enjoyed Pat Martin’s panache. His animated style. He said what was on his mind and one knew where he was at. Watching him speak in the House of Commons was always a treat. I don’t expect his use of social media to be any different. But, corporate media seem to think otherwise, as they have taken a collective dive for their fainting couches. Here are a few examples of Mr. Martin’s latest tweets from last night we’re all referring too:
“This is a f—ing disgrace . . . closure again. And on the Budget! There’s not a democracy in the world that would tolerate this jackboot s—,” he said in one Tweet.
“F— you,” he later said in response to a Tweep disgusted by his potty mouth.
Apparently, according to Pat Martin, those evil buffoons were all ga ga giddy over their latest coup, as they always are when evil prevails.
I was in the middle of voting in the House of Commons so I was sitting in my seat looking at the smug, arrogant, ignorance across the way,” he said. “These people laughing, joking and running roughshod over democracy.
Yep, I’d be pissed off too. Why aren’t most Canadians? You see, boys ‘n’ girls, the Harpercons latest motion they were trying to put closure on was the budget. Yes, the budget! I mean, this is your tax dollars. Shouldn’t there be some scrutiny by the opposition? Shouldn’t the media be covering the fact that the Harpercons are using closure again, on something as important as the goddamned budget?
Oh, and this would be closure #6, in a space of 33 days. That does beat Chretien’s record. Again, why isn’t the media making that the story?
Another thing that’s frightening. Further evidence that the Harpercons won’t tolerate dissent. NDP MPs Megan Leslie and Claude Gravelle have now been accused of taking “the treacherous course of leaving the domestic debate and heading abroad to attack a legitimate Canadian resource which is being responsibly developed and regulated.’’ Yes, do read it, it’s quite an eye full.
As for the rest of you tweeters and other Canadians who are all shocked and verklempt over Pat Martin’s swearing on Twitter, get over it! What? You never used the F-bomb in your entire lives?
What is more disappointing is that the rather weak interim leader, Nycole Turmel, is not standing behind her MP.
His language was not appropriate and could have been offensive to some,” Turmel said in a statement emailed by her spokesman, Karl Bélanger. “That said, the Conservatives’ actions are not appropriate in a democracy and offensive to all Canadians.”
Mme Turmel’s comment above, indicates, like the corporate media and a lot of Canadian Tweeps who witnessed Mr. Martin’s angry tweets last night, that she too, misses the point completely. Mme Turmel, too should be as pissed off, if not, more so, than Mr. Martin, as the leader (albeit interim) of the Harpercons for stifling debate, using closure, yet again on something as important as the budget, and having her MPs, Megan Leslie and Claude Gravelle being accused of treachery, yet she’s concerned that Canadians will be offended by Pat Martin’s language? Yeah, yeah, yeah! She did mention that the Harpercons’ behaviour was “not appropriate” and “offensive” but that came as an afterthought. And those adjectives; that really the best she can come up with. No wonder most Canadians are asleep at the wheel in their arrogant complacency!

If Canada truly did have a ‘liberal media’, Harper would be toast. Instead, he rages on undetected by most Canadians. Something has to give.
Well put, Jymn. The real culprit here is the Harper Government. I have been Pat Martin’s worst critic as one of his constituents but he is absolutely right to be angry and he should have his party’s support. These weasels are obstructing Parliament and hiding what they have planned for us. For Martin to be so upset, I’m guessing there is some pretty ugly stuff in that budget, which we have not heard a peep about.

I e-mailed Pat Martin. I asked him if he would use the f-bomb word on my behalf. I have a long list of Conservatives, and BC Liberals I want f-bombed.
I know Harper’s best buddy Campbell, f-bombed a female person in the BC Legislature. I guess it depends on who you are, when the f-bomb word is used. Christy Clark, I hear is an excellent f-bomb user.
Harper is a fascist dictator. He is known for proroguing Parliament twice within a year. He just didn’t want to answer the torture of the detainee question. ICC’s Chief Prosecutor, Luis Moreno-Decampo, is investigating Harper for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Harper was too arrogant to answer, for the theft of our tax dollars.
It’s no surprise Harper wanted to shut down the debate. I thought for sure he would prorogue Parliament again. His best buddy Campbell did the same thing, on his and Harper’s HST scam. Campbell would not allow, a full debate on the HST. The tax with no representation. This is typical behavior for dictators, who are cowards and of low character. I found Harper a snake in the grass, right from day one. Both Harper and Campbell, sneak to do their evil dirt, then run and hide.
