Quelle surprise! Harper muzzles top dog Mountie.

It’s not enough to exhibit iron-fisted control over his own party members and the media but Mr. Harper is making sure that theConservative message is also dictated to the RCMP.

Self-censorship is almost tolerable in the ranks of one’s own party but muzzling the RCMP is a crime against all Canadians, especially for the poor and marginalized most often victimized by corruption and physical abuse in the police force.

Saying that, the discipline of message enforced by the authoritarian Harper is something the opposition should study. It works. It wins elections. Not that the opposition parties should go to the extremes of control that Harper wields but discipline of message is absolutely necessary to winning elections.
