Another Piece of Criteria For Conservatism-Racism–Apparently, Sri-Lanka is Now a Hot Tourist Destination–What if a Boat Load of Irish Migrants Arrived?

Blogging SupposiTory BC Blue is citing fellow wingnut from, you guessed it, Kory Klan, Brian Lilley, claiming that Tamil refugees all go back to Sri-Lanka on vacation.  I had a troll once who seriously believed that Sri Lanka was now a vacation destination, as well as another at some other progressive blog awhile back. I’m hearing it more and more these days. Sri Lanka is now a hot vacation destination. Okay, conbots, I will say this again; please, call your travel agents and book your next sun vacations there at our earliest possible convenience, please?  In fact, turn it into a whirlwind cruise.  Take an old rickety freighter. Don’t forget to pack the dixie cups now, you may need ‘em!  If you must take a plane and do it the easy way, ok.  Hurry now.  Don’t forget to write…

Seriously though, is this rabid racism in Canada a new thing, or has it always been around, but dormant until a like minded King like Stevie spiteful and his white evangelical flunkies came into the fold and stirred up those sentiments?  I mean, why not?  One thing Stevie spiteful is notorious for is bringing out the worst character traits in Canadians. Whatever the case, it is sure becoming frightening. They don’t like being compared to the Klu Klux Klan; they have made their feelings clear to me when I do that, but when I read things like “Torpedo” as an answer to the question what to do with the two more Tamil ships predicted to arrive  on Canadian shores or, worse yet,  a newspaper (if we can call it that: Kory Klan after all) editorial advocates the “lock and load approach”; perhaps the Klu Klux Klan is an inappropriate name for them. Statements like the above make the KKK look like Romper Room in comparison. (H/T Dr Dawg)

Last Friday, Kelly McParland’s column, arguing that Canadians were not necessarily racist per se,but…

It’s just possible that, as Canadians become increasingly familiar with how easy it is to take advantage of the country’s good intentions…

“They’re jumping the queue!”  seems to be a common refrain, as many attempt to continue justifying their racism under the cloak of injustice or shrieking that our refugee system is broken. Andrew Coyne  points out that there is no queue for refugee claimants.

Of the 40,000-odd refugee claims Canada receives every year, about a quarter are made from Canada (as opposed to being made at embassies or refugee camps overseas). You show up with a valid claim, you’re in: doesn’t matter how many people arrive ahead of or behind you. The Prime Minister complains that the Tamils did not go through “normal channels,” but in fact it’s a completely normal channel: the only difference is they arrived by boat, rather than by plane.

Well, so much for that excuse. Coyne’s article is well worth the read.

While McParland’s article may make some sense on the surface, given the obvious ignorance of many.  I would beg to differ.  Many Canadians just don’t like anyone who ain’t white.  It is obvious more and more each day.  I put to you, my readers, a hypothetical situation below. While unlikely, the following example I bring up wouldn’t be all that far fetched.

What if a boat load of Irish refugees dawned our shores?  Would Super Mustache Toews, himself board the ship?  Would the tea-bagger element all whine and go on about Ireland being a tourist destination? (which, by the way, still is) Would the obvious escapees from the institute for the criminally insane be advocating “torpedoing”  or “locking and loading” or some other equally or of greater insidious, gory attack of the ship(s)? I’m not so sure.

The reason I bring up the Irish as an example is that they’re predominantly white, Christian and speak  English; traits many of today’s conservative Canadians value more than anything else these days. While they don’t come from a country that is mired in violence (at least, not now; wasn’t always the case), they are suffering chronic economic problems with no end in sight.  Unemployment is on the increase, as is poverty. No one seems to be optimistic that the situation in Ireland will improve anytime soon. Many are abandoning their homes and cars and leaving their homeland for other parts of the world in search of work. Many move to Britain. Others migrating to Australia and New Zealand due to generous work visa programs.  But there are quite a few who are migrating to Canada and numbers are growing slowly.  Yet, they seem to fly under the radar. The corporate media isn’t making any kind of splash about their arrival. No one is complaining about them “taking our jobs” as they do when non-whites arrive.  They’re of course, arriving at airports and not by boats. But what if one day the situation in Ireland spiralled so quickly out of control that they left their shores for here by the boat load  like they did over 150 years ago?  I ask again, would they be  better received today? My guess is many would be more ok with them than with any non-white migrant either arriving by boat, airplane or  parachute.  It would certainly be an interesting test.

Another thing I don’t get: many of these  rabid racist Canadians are immigrants themselves or at least, are descendants of immigrants (most cases anyway); including (I would venture to guess) the blogger of BC Blue; did they forget where they came from, as John Moore suggested? They may try to pull the old, “but my family…it was different…they went through proper channels”…you get the idea…yech! Some of it may be true. Many would be amazed to find out that their ancestors may well have arrived the same way those Tamils did. One would think they would be able to empathize as many of the ethnic groups they came from weren’t so well received by their communities when they first arrived neither; be they white, Olive-toned,  black, or even yellow with polka-dots.

Mr. McParland, I do agree with the title of your  column though: Polls Show That Canadians Are Nasty, Anti-Immigrant SOBs Shitheads (hey! Mr McParland may have to watch his language over at the NattyPo, but over here at Sister Sage’s Musings, I certainly don’t (neither do any contributors here, for that mater); profanity is encouraged here).

So, conbots, on the horn with your travel agents yet, booking that dream sun vacation in Sri Lanka?

Bob Marley Tee-Shirts Are Too Offensive For Family Values Six Flags Parks

Who knew that reggae greats went against the family values Six Flags parks tries to instill?

Thirty-two year old medical technology specialist, Brunaud Moise, a black man who was taking his fifteen year old brother to Laronde, a Six Flags owned amusement park in Montreal was refused entry because he was wearing a grey Bob Marley tee-shirt emblazoned with a cluster of green marijuana leaves. Below is a picture of the “offensive” tee-shirt.

It is quite fishy how things seemed to have unfolded, beginning at the entrance of the park, according to Mr Moise.

“They said give us your ticket and he’s going to explain after so he didn’t even explain before what was the problem. And then he said it was inappropriate,” Moïse tells CJAD News.

Joey Elias, who was replacing Redneck Ryan Doyle on CJAD this fine evening, had Mr Moise on the phone. The security guards had basically told him to either turn his shirt inside out or he wouldn’t be admitted. Well, Joey so astutely pointed out that the Laronde goon squad doesn’t even know their own rules.  You see, Family Values Six Flags has a whole page on conduct on their web site, including a section on dress code.

DRESS CODE

In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere, and for health and safety reasons, Six Flags strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear. Clothing with rude, vulgar or offensive language or graphics is not permitted, and shirts cannot be turned inside-out as a solution. Bathing suits may be worn only in water park areas. Park admission may be denied if clothing is deemed by management to be inappropriate.

Those goons were essentially suggesting to Mr Moise that he break another rule by turning his tee-shirt inside out? Or was this another trap to perhaps further humiliate him and his younger brother inside the park? And where does it say that Bob Marley or images of marijuana leaves are offensive or vulgar? I don’t remember any of Bob Marley’s songs being all that racey.

The last time I went to Laronde, it was still owned by the city of Montreal, long before the expansions; long before Six Flags purchased it. I used to wear some harder core tee-shirts like “Who give a Fuck what Frankie Say?” I hated Frankie Goes to Hollywood and never understood their allure.  I also wore an old sweatshirt my dad had given me saying “US Olympic Drinking Team” over there, and still was never refused entrance. No one really thought of anything at the time.

Joey Elias was musing along with technical producer, Mike Babins that they should head off to Laronde together wearing rocker, tie-dyed tees with skeletons on them or a slogan that says “Legalize this!”  Anyone who has ever seen Joey on stage, know that he’s a big guy, standing at around 6’4″.  Mike Babins has long hair. So imagine the visual. Joey believes they could pass and that Mr Moise’s case was of racial profiling. I honestly hope that Joey and Mike perform experiment and provide feed back. It would be interesting to find out the results; would be interesting to see if they passed through or not.

Bruneaud Moise is filing a complaint with the Quebec Human Rights Commission, asking for damages, refunds for his Laronde passes, and a public apology. Anthony Morgan, of the Centre for Research-Action on Race Relations, a Montreal-based civil rights organization is backing Moise’s complaint. He says that this case  highlights Six Flags’ “conservative, right-wing policies.” Indeed, it is not the first time Six Flags gets into hot water over such family values nasties like racial profiling.

In 2004, Six Flags Inc. agreed to pay $5.6 million U.S. to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing security guards at Magic Mountain, near Los Angeles, of improperly searching visitors and excluding them solely on their appearance. Some customers complained the park’s anti-gang rule unfairly targeted minorities. The company denied any wrongdoing, and said it agreed to settle only to move on.

Morgan added that there were reports last spring of two black women who said they were denied jobs at a Six Flags theme park in Maryland because they had dreadlocks. Morgan, a McGill University law student, said the Moïse case proves Six Flags does not have a broad view of modern families. “A lot people don’t fit the company’s family model,” he said. Marley is a symbol of black pride, he added.

Certainly very telling. These cases certainly give a precedent for Six Flags racist values. Of course, lest we forget, today’s “family values” conservatism is all about lilly whiteness hiding behind white picket fences, eating wonder white bread.

Then, as Joey mused on his show this evening, he wondered if any of those young girls of any colour were banned from the park, given the provocative way many of them dress today with their micro mini-skirts and tight low cut crop tops and high heels many can’t even walk in? How about many of those boys who walk around in those oversized pants halfway down their butts so their undies are visible for all to see or even the crack of their buttsf?  Does that follow the family values dress code?

Moise said his younger brother remained quiet during the confrontation with the guards.

“I told him you have to be courageous when these things happen. There has to be a change in mentality.”

That couldn’t have been easy; he counted on spending quality time with his younger brother, giving him a fun day. Instead, he got a hard lesson on racial profiling from the American Conservative “family values” brigade.

No, Lorrie Goldstein And Other Wingnut Columnists, This Ain’t 1962 or The ‘Good Ol’ Days’ Dumb-Asses!

What is with that magic year 1962 when it comes to comparing crime statistics in Canada? Better still, what is with this longing for the so-called ‘good ol’ days’?  I mean, with anything; be it crime rates; be it women’s issues; gay rights; immigration; etc.

Oh someone is sucking up to his new boss these days.  And Goldstein ain’t alone.  Apparently, it is now in vogue, among other things for wingnut columnists to write about how Canada is a dangerous place to be and how Canadians are just very bad people.  And they are all a comin’ out a swingin’ for Master Steve’s very expensive tough on Crime bills. And they all like to play amateur statistician to boot.  The rancid Dr jabba the Roy has so proudly compiled a few of them today. However, Lorrie Goldstein had to have come up with THE dumbest conclusion and comparison at the end of his already abysmal column. Besides, he’s long overdue for one of my bitch slapping rants.

Well, lowering crime rates are probably one aspect as to why Sweater vest Steve has zero respect for Statistics Canada. And these wingnut columnists playing amateur statistician with their confusing math as to raise the blood pressure of any math teacher must be oh so pleasing to the master.  Yet, they seem to enjoy harping on one common thread; our crime rates are still oh so much higher than they were in 1962. Ok, let’s look at this, shall we?

Since 1962, unwed women and girls, and only them were blamed for unwanted pregnancies no matter the circumstances; whether the sex that resulted in these pregnancies was consensual or not. The man/boy never ever shouldered the blame or very little of it.  Especially in the case of girls and young college aged women, they were whisked off to special homes for unwed mothers, generally convents, where they were forced to have their babies and put them up for adoption in a hush hush manner, while their families back home can pretend all was right in their world; that their daughters were simply away at college or visiting relatives across the country while they still kept up with the Jones’s. We have evolved since then. Pre-marital sex is no longer the taboo it once was.

Many of those pregnancies were also the result of rape and/or incest. Again, the victims were blamed; a very high stigma attached. No one, but no one reported those crimes. It didn’t mean they didn’t happen more or less. In fact, we hear more of adult survivors reporting their suffering either at the hands of their family members, clergy, teachers, aboriginals who had survived the horrors of  residential schools, etc.

I really don’t have to bring up abortion in 1962. Back alley flop houses done by non-medically trained crooks with unsanitary tools in filthy conditions.  Or old wives abortion methods such as knitting needles and wire hangers.

What about the men? Boys were raised at that time (many still are) that they didn’t cry and that they were to be tough; to be a man and fight back. Reporting a crime such as a mugging would certainly have gone against their male pride.

What about other crimes?  Surely being the victim of other crimes prior to 1962 must have had a stigma attached to them, thus preventing them from reporting them.

So, when I read the dumb argument from idiots like Goldstein saying the reason for the crime rates in Canada going down is that fewer people are reporting them, wouldn’t it stand to reason that perhaps many didn’t report crimes prior to 1962?

And what is the deal with these cons longing for the good ol’ days? And I’m not talking only about crime rates neither.

Our new Governor General is someone who stepped out of the era of “The Man in The Grey Flannel Suit”

We have columnists like Babs Kay who devotes her columns to lamenting the invention of  Birth Control and the sexual revolution and in an effort to spread her own misery, tries to force down the throats that not only was the sexual revolution and legalized abortions are immoral, but continues to try in vain to continue to convince readers that they too should be unhappy about this and feebly attempt her readers into longing for the good ol’ days’.

Back in the ‘good ol’ days, women weren’t on the work force as much and the fields of work women took on were more limited as were their post secondary education opportunities.  I remember Diane Finley making some offensive statement awhile back basically saying that two income households were not a necessity but a choice. I remember thinking that she was hinting at wishing for more to stay home.

Those are just some major differences between prior to 1962 and 2010. I didn’t touch on evolving technology.

My point is that in comparing crime statistics or anything else to 1962 or prior to that against today is comparing apples and oranges. The results would be flawed, no matter how hard they try as they might to skew it in their favour.

Back to Goldstein’s idiotic argument in favour of Master Steve’s tax payer paid big-assed prisons. It is a goody, indeed:

…the knee-jerk argument from the hug-a-thug crowd that a (slightly) lower annual crime rate automatically means we don’t need as many police or prisons, is akin to arguing a lower mortality rate automatically means we don’t need as many doctors or hospitals.

In other words, it’s painfully simplistic and dumb.

No, Lorrie, you’re painfully simplistic and dumb-assed. I have one word to respond to that idiotic quote: Huh?

Of course we need more doctors and hospitals because they are needed to heal the sick so people could live longer.  Doctors (in principle, anyway) not only treat the illness and the patient, but they do much research in an effort to find out what causes these illnesses as to be better able to prevent them in the future in addition to finding cures for them. If doctors can successfully prevent more illnesses, then maybe eventually, they would need fewer hospitals.

The same goes for crime.  Look at crime as a sickness. Try to find the causes so as to better prevent them to begin with.  We know of some of the obvious culprits; poverty and unemployment.  Why don’t we try to find the causes of poverty and unemployment (well, I think most of us know that too, but you get the idea) and try to fix that? Create jobs. Create better training programs. Find ways of getting to those who are most vulnerable to slipping through the cracks and offer programs to help them get on their feet like vocational training.  Educational programs for children at risk.  And yes, better community relations between law enforcement and its’ inhabitants because right now, especially in more impoverished neighbourhoods, distrust is strong.  These ideas are just crazy enough to actually work! If we were to implement just half of these ideas, then I think we would see crime rates slide even faster and there really wouldn’t be any need for those big-assed prisons; not that there was any need to begin with.

But of course, this is Stevie Spiteful, Vic Toews, the Colonel Sanders look-a-like and their wingnutty columnists like Lorrie Goldstein who for whatever reason, seem to get their kicks from watching people suffer, while their fat cat ‘friends’ continue to get fatter.

Also, let’s not forget, these are people that, if they had their way, we would go far back in time, using Maurice Duplessis’s Periode Noirceur as a model for their utopic Canada.  No, never mind that,  Duplessis was probably too liberal for them.

When Anti-Feminists Invoke Double Standards–Featuring Starry-Eyed Rightchik Tammee,

What the hell is it about the women of the Blogging SupposiTories?  Is it just me, or are they even more sexist than their male counterparts?

I wonder if Ex-Lax Max likes girls who look like  Tammy-Faye Baker? Her crush on him is really shameless. I wonder what her hubby who is overseas thinks of this?  She pulls the double standard and hence, the target of some verbal bitch-slapping from your’s truly! She actually makes the anti-feminist slam against Guergis at the end of her miserable post.

Should be somewhat amusing to watch although really, go home Helena.  Resign your seat and take care of your baby.  Leave this stress behind, we all know it’s not good for the new one.

Nice.

Is Tammee suggesting that Helena Guergis stay home barefoot and pregnant? Or all women?

She is claiming to hear the rumours some of us have been hearing that perhaps the Liberals may be courting her, but Guergis is holding fast to her Con roots; either she runs as a Harpercon or an independent.  It seems, though, that Tammeee Rightchik and her commenters are just outraged; just outraged, I tell you, at the idea of her crossing over to the Liberals. What are you scared of? Why should you care? If Steve is running that star candidate, Dr Kellie Leitch (assuming the rumours are true, of course), why should you worry?

And that is the mystery. We know why Steve won’t take Guergis back, as that would mean Stevie Spiteful would actually have to humble himself and publicly eat crow. It may be possible that she may have cause for legal action, not that Steve would allow it to go anywhere. But, I want to know why anti-feminists like Rightchik Tammeee are so afraid of her? From what it looks like, they don’t even want her sitting as an independent or even a Liberal.  Although, the latter, I’m not inclined to believe will happen and I wouldn’t recommend that for the Liberals. Another post for another time, though. But why does she really want her gone?  We know it ain’t because she cares about the health of Ms Guergis or her baby. Caring isn’t in the repertoire of materialist ice-princesses like Rightchik Tammeee.

I also don’t hear a peep of outrage from Rightchik Tammee & the usual suspects regarding Jean-Pierre Blackburn’s little Tequila tantrum at an airport awhile back. In fact, I don’t think they even remember it.

As far as Rightchik Tammee’s faux concern for Guergis regarding her pregnancy,  it’s probably a helluva lot less stressful to work, many pregnant women have worked and will continue to do so, than the stress Stevie spiteful has caused her, not to mention that toad of a husband of her’s. Yes, he too may have been cleared of wrong doing by the RCMP, but he still strikes me as a toad.

To be perfectly clear,  I was highly critical of Helena Guergis’ behavior at the PEI airport, her use of sock puppetry (staffers writing to newspapers) and a few other transgressions.  Many of us were. But Steve never threw her out of cabinet, nor caucus for those sins.  Lord knows, we drew a lot of entertainment from the future revelations regarding her hubby when PI, Derrick Snowdy and all his sleaziness crawled out of the woodwork; remember #bustyhookers? I made a cartoon of  she and Jaffer in his and her straight jackets. I even had a visit from the PI Derrick Snowdy hisself at my comments section from a previous post, basically trying to put a muzzle on me.

We have heard that she was not a great minister of state for the status of women. Neither is farm girl Rona Ambrose. As a matter of fact, I don’t think Stevie spiteful would allow anybody to make any kind of effort with that portfolio.  Given his coveted majority, I daresay he would scrap the status of women portfolio altogether.  That outta to make our shoe princess happy.

Here’s more from earlier in her post:

Unlike Bernier, Guergis showed no remorse in the potential scandal, she proclaimed loudly her innocence and became quite – well – insistent that she did nothing wrong.  And while she may have done nothing wrong criminally by allowing her husband to use her office showed poor, very poor judgement.

No remorse, no repentance and without those she will find no redemption.

If Guergis had good grace (and good sense) she should have immediately resigned, apologized and moved into the background – quietly!  She didn’t and consequently is now out of caucus, out of the party and out of time.

She apologized for the airport incident. Whether or not she was sincere is another story, wouldn’t be the first time a politician was insincere with an apology,  but she did it.  Apologize for what?  Oh yeah! Silly me! It’s a no no to defend one’s self, apparently. Not to the Messiah Steve. Steve is always right (pun intended!).   Why would Ms Guergis need redemption?

Perhaps Ex-Lax Max should apologize for attempting to defend hisself back when he fucked up too? Oh right, he’s a dreamy male and can do no wrong. Yes, Tammee, Ex-Lax Max blamed Ms Couillard for his problems after much denial. Selective memory?  Gawd, she’s shameless.

I was also highly critical of the double standard between she and Ex-Lax Max; the fact that she was kicked out of caucus for unknown reasons and Ex-Lax Max was not and he made the big boo boo.  The double standard by Steve and his cheerleaders. Julie Couillard was publicly blamed & humiliated in the corporate  media for the sins of Ex-Lax Max. Guergis was blamed for the sins of her toad of a husband.

Now, it has come out that both Guergis and Jaffer have been cleared of any wrong doing by the RCMP.

She still believes Ex-Lax Max is still accountable to the people. Tell me, dear princess, if he’s soooo accountable, how come I, a Canadian voter, is banned from commenting at his blog?  It’s his right to ban me, but don’t dare come out and call him accountable because banning me or anyone else from commenting at his site is anything but. Hell, I even excercised great restraint and laid off the profanity and nick names. I really did!

Once again, I also know, that you don’t give a rat’s ass about the health of Ms Guergis or her baby. Because, simply put, you’re a shallow, cold, heartless bitch who only cares about shoe shopping and make up, because, there’s nothing else. Nothing even remotely resembling substance to your pathetic life except to be the trophy wife of some Canadian Forces major.  I wonder if he knows how she fantacizes over Ex-Lax Max?

Texas Bus Driver Sues For Discrimination; Religious Reasons–For the Suzy ALLCAPSLOCK Files

I always knew the U.S. were known for two things; their litigiousness and their ever growing wingnuttiness. Particularly religious wingnuttiness.  Just when you think the law suit or the religious belief doesn’t get more ridiculous, more stories proving us wrong come up.

Here is the doozy: a bus driver in Texas is suing for discrimination based on his religious beliefs. Why? Get this one, boys n’ girls; because of his religious beliefs. No, I’m not kidding.  He was fired for refusing to take women to Planned Parenthood Centers.

Edwin Graning, who was hired as a driver on April 1, 2009, was “concerned that he might be transporting a client to undergo an abortion” when he was assigned to take two women to Planned Parenthood, according to his lawsuit, filed this week in U.S. District Court in Austin.

Graning is seeking reinstatement, back pay and undisclosed damages for pain, suffering and emotion distress. He is represented by lawyers from the American Center for Law & Justice, founded by evangelical Christian leader Pat Robertson.

Joanna Salinas, an Austin lawyer who represents the Capital Area Rural Transportation System, said, “CARTS denies that it discriminated against Mr. Graning because of his religion, and we are looking forward to responding to the lawsuit in court.”

The system, operated under an agreement among participating counties, offers bus service on fixed routes and through requested pickup for residents in the nonurban areas of Travis and Williamson counties and in all of Bastrop, Burnet, Blanco, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays and Lee counties.

After he was dispatched to take the women to Planned Parenthood in January, Graning called his supervisor “and told her that, in good conscience, he could not take someone to have an abortion,” his lawsuit said. The women’s names, their location and the clinic location were not included in the lawsuit. Planned Parenthood also provides health care services unrelated to abortion.

Graning, a Kyle resident, is “an ordained Christian minister who is opposed to abortion,” the lawsuit said.

His supervisor, who is not named, responded by saying, “Then you are resigning,” the suit said.

Graning denied he was resigning and was later told to drive his bus back to the yard and then was fired, the lawsuit said.

Graning’s suit claims violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

Read the rest here.

Yes,  the good Reverend thinks he deserves the keys to the courthouse in addition to a king’s ransome from his former employer from ‘preventing’ women from having abortions. And of course he does! What were his employers thinking? He’s a super hero! He saved the day! Hurrah! Hell! Give him the keys to the city! Never mind all the pap smears, counselling and other female health exams and treatments he may have prevented, but hell, it was all worth it! By Golly Gee! He saved the fetuses!!

Me thinks this wacked out bus driver has prohibited his own employment opportunities by not taking paying customers to where they want and have paid to go just because he doesn’t approve of what the customer may or may not be doing at said destination; in this case, possible abortions at a Planned Parenthood Center.

In our minds, the Reverend Graning’s law suit should be a no brainer.  The case would and should be thrown out and he should be laughed out of court in much the same way as Orly Taitz, right? Well, we can hope that would happen.  But, let’s be realistic, Texas is the bible belt of the U.S. and folks tend to get more wingnutty as time goes by, and the very fact that a judge seemed to have agreed to keep the case on the docket is, well, disturbing to say the least. Don’t be surprised if  Reverend Bus driver does recover back pay, gets his job back and of course, gets the special privilege of either by passing the Planned Parenthood center entirely or having the route changed to the point he would never even have to pass within view of the building.

This oughta make Suzy ALLCAPSLOCK all warm and tingly inside. A hero after her own heart, right up there after Pope Ratzy, Cardinal Mar Ouellet, Dean Del Mastro and Sharon Angle.

Vatican Sinks to New Misogynistic Low

There really aren’t that many words to say about this doozy.

Pope Ratzy has come out and said that pedophilia is a sin. No shit, Shirlock!!  But here’s the kicker; in the world according to ol’ Ratzy, so is ordaining women, apparently, it’s right up there too;

In the eyes of the Roman Catholic Church, both are equally “grave delicts,” according to revisions in internal Vatican laws published Thursday.

Women who attempt to preside over any ceremony or attempt to be ordained will be ex-communicated. Wow! I wonder if the pope or any of his flunkies have attempted to tell any female Protestant ministers this? Do they even have the balls?

“Lumping us with the men who are the perpetrators of these crimes is absolutely mean-spirited and completely out of touch with reality,” said Sudbury’s Marie Bouclin. From 1959 to 1966, Bouclin was a nun in Ottawa. After leaving her order, she continued to work for the Catholic Church until the early 1990s, eventually becoming the personal secretary to a bishop.

But Bouclin became overwhelmed with the ways she believed her church was unfair to women. After she spoke up about it one too many times, she was let go from her position.

Now, she considers herself a Catholic priest.

What I don’t get is why doesn’t Bouclin simply convert and become a Protestant minister? At least her church would not only respect her, but she would be recognized as full fledged clergy as much as her male counterparts.

And another thing, I don’t recall any of those pedophile priests being ex-communicated.

Now, here comes the manditory apologist where he starts spinning things, saying that the Vatican is not equating pedophilia with Ordaining women.

“It does a disservice to everyone when you draw these parallels quickly without reflection,” said MacCarthy. “It does a disservice to the victims of abuse and to the women who are making great contributions to the church.”

First off, Mr Apologist, your church has already done more than a disservice to the victims of abuse at the hands of your priests.

Next, and certainly not least, how can women make any significant contributions to the Catholic Church if  his popeness has made it a sin for them to do so?

You put both of these items in that same rule book.  More on their rules here.

Yanno, you’re not going to win new parishioners with these draconian, mean spirited laws.  I daresay you’ll probably lose more women.

Again, I hope that many Catholic women consider converting to Protestantism (if they choose to be clergy that is) or whatever else suits them.

How About Debunking Some Abortion Accessibility Myths?

So much for shrieking fetus fetishists rantings about gov’t funded third trimester abortions happening on a regular basis. For those bitching about our tax dollars going into abortions should know that it is not the case for all abortions; particularly if a woman seeking an abortion lives either on a native reserve or in a rural area or in the province of Prince Edward Island.

Yeah, I know, for many fetus fetishists; it just isn’t quite enough, now is it? Just think, folks, a  St-Stevie majority will re criminalize abortions.

Barbie Kay! You’re Full o’ Shit!! Sources, Please?

Yes, just when I think  National Pest’s star, Barbie Kay of the mother and son duo (I bet she still dresses little Johnny every morning), can’t sink any lower or be so anti-woman as to show how her sexual frustration; she does it again! This time in the form of Quebec bashing.  Everytime I see a hint of Quebec bashing in the Harpercon media, I stop to read to find the mistakes, because, frankly, even  English language media often misses the mark with Quebec society.

Well, Babs is batting double here: Quebec and of course, her usual woman bashing. Not only does she display her sexual frustrations, but she also has a problem with women’s shelters, drug rehabs and homes for kids at Risk. Here, she spits out how much government money supposedly goes into these ventures:

Amongst these three, the women’s shelters are by far the best financed. The 106 shelters (all for women: none for male victims of domestic violence, or for fathers seeking to shelter their children from mothers’ violence) are allotted $60 million, as compared to $26 million for 392 homes for at-risk youth, and $14 million for 95 dependency centres.

Interestingly, although domestic abuse statistics show no rise in incidents, the financing of women’s shelters in recent years has doubled. In 2003-04 they received $30 million. This abrupt rise is unusual and has not been explained to the auditor general’s satisfaction, whose 2008-9 report notes: “One woman’s shelter for abused women or in difficulty holding six beds saw its subsidy go from $58, 832 to $406, 817 between 2002-3 and 2006-7 [with no accountability].” Yet, in 2006-7, the shelter housed a total of nine women, an occupation rate of 12% (with a high of 29% in 2005-6).

Almost half a million dollars for nine women? That’s about $50,000 a year each. What was the money spent on? We’re not allowed to know — In Quebec, even when the auditor general asks, nobody answers. Maybe the federal government should ask before they hand over the next equalization cheque of $8 billion.

Perhaps all the women’s shelters in the entire province of Quebec  put together may have received half million dollars, but certainly, not one little shelter that warehouses 9 women.   Even half million for every women’s shelter in Quebec may be a generous estimate.  As someone who has volunteered periodically during fundraising times for various women’s shelters in Montreal, I guarantee that many would not be  begging for money as much as they do from the community; businesses and individuals if both Federal government and provincial government (particularly the Charest Liberals) were even a quarter as generous as ol’ Blustery Babs seems to proclaim.

So Babs!  On behalf of my women readers,  we would like to know where you found your numbers, or else, print a retraction.

Oh, and Babs would like everyone to know that  battered women would be much happier continuing to be battered by their hubbies, than to actually have refuge or other help from the community. I think she would also like to see drug addicts be rounded up and locked in prisons where they have access to more drugs to feed their habits.  And of course, in her world, Kids at risk? What Kids at risk? Ain’t no such thing.

Tommy and Dr Roy Would Like Us All to Know That All Advocacy groups, Think Tanks Should Lose Government Funding

Yes, CJADs Tommy Schnurmacher ranted about this in his segment, vehemently defending the recent cuts to those 14 groups.  We all must keep in mind though, that like any good Harpercon cheerleader, Tommy is not only a zionist but a pro-lifer and a wanker who suffers from Liberal Derangement syndrome as well. Pro-lifer for life…just like the rancid Dr Jabba the Roy…fat ol’ hypocrites since they have no children themselves, but I digress.

Ok, Tommy and Dr Roy (I left that in his comments, but in case he erased it):  ok, put your money where your mouth is: let’s push the Harpercon government to cut funding to the following groups:

Chakam School of the Bible Inc. – $357,146

Wycliffe Bible Translators – $495,600

Spinach Based Cosmetics –  $281, 586

Horse Canada Magazine – $24,920

4 Wheel Drive Magazine – $21, 070

Ontario Golf Magazine – $26,070

Wine Access Magazine – $34. 390

Twitter Campaign to promote seal hunt – $50,000 – $100,000

While we’re at it, I think we should really cut funding to a few other groups, including one woman’s group: Real Women of Canada, The Fraser Institute, Focus on the Family Canada, the Canadian Constitution Foundation, Youth for Christ, and  private religious colleges and schools.

If you really think they deserve government funding more than those organizations that had their funding axed by the Harpercons in recent days, weeks, months and years ago, please explain why. Do it in my comments section, as I’m sure my readers would love to know how you would justify it.

Oh and Tommy Schnurmacher would also like you to know he laments the fact that there are no men’s rights groups.

And ladies, Dr Jabba the Roy Eappen is an endocrinologist (I wonder if he has female patients? Don’t wanna think about that ), you should take a  hard look at how his patients rate him. Pay attention at how particularly negligent he is with some female patients.

And that, ladies and gentlemen is my public service deed for today.

Another Thing to Note About the Hypocrisy of Fetus Fetishists

DeBeauxOs of Dammit Janet asked where the Fetus Fetishists were in the plight of a refugee from Guinea who is Diabetic with a high risk pregnancy. A valid question indeed that points out to their hypocrisy.

Long story short, Camara married a Canadian citizen, and in spite of the marriage having been obviously consommated,  immigration officials held fast that the marriage was a sham,  perhaps because he went out west in an attempt to look for work while she stayed in Montreal.  Just an observation here,  this is not the first time one spouse in any couple leaves town alone to either look for work or to actually work and then come home to visit his/her family. Why on Gawd’s green earth would these immigration officials think this is foreign?  Ah! Because, she’s black and our immigration officials work for a  government proven to be racist time and again. If she were white and came from any given (almost, anyway) European nation, the pregnancy more than likely would have been enough to prove the marriage was indeed real.

Today, we learn that Sayon Camara, the refugee in question, got a reprieve. She will be able to stay until the baby is born, at least. Good news for her and her baby.

I was going to answer DeBeauxOs question with something like they only care about white babies born to Judaio-Christian families. However, after looking at today’s comment board under the story at the CBC,  all that hatred and paranoia. One comment stuck out for me  by a CarloswhatdoUC and allow him to answer her question:

Well, well, how about that? All of a sudden, it is ok for an abortion rather than allow a black baby to be born. Perhaps they’re only ga ga giddy over lilly white babies being born. Wait! NO! They don’t even want government funded abortions in any maternal aid initiative.

That same commenter of course, had to bring that good ol’ American paranoia that has spread here; that ee ol’  ficticious  evul soshalism is to blame.

Also, love how if they’re brown or black, they’re automatically classified as welfare leeches. The poor husband left his home town to find work, but he is still considered a leech.  Alberta, no less; check this out: if he does get lucky enough to find a job there (or almost anywhere else for that matter) unemployed white Canadians will blame him; a fellow Canadian citizen, for taking his job. However, I digress.

Hard to believe that Canada is becoming more and more the nation where thugs like Marc Lemire become national heroes. That is, hard to believe until we read commenters like Carlos and all those who cheer with their ‘thumbs up’ moral support.  It’s frightening that to these people, they would rather see visible minorities drop dead than actually having them as potential neighbours.

If  Statistics Canada projections are correct and  there will be a significant increase in ‘visible’ minorities as well as  whites being the minority in major urban centers in the next few decades, the paranoia won’t be pretty to watch.

Also gotta love how nowadays, diabetes is no longer a disease, but a poor lifestyle choice.  I guess what’s next is blaming parents for having kids with Cystic Fibrosis due to their bad recessive genes.

As for evul soshalism. Here’s something to think about.  Countries like Norway and Sweden consistently outrank us when it comes to standard of living according to UN rankings. Another thing to think about; why is Stats Can projecting this large increase of ‘visible minorities’ in the next few decades?  That usually means that lilly white Europeans must be happy with their socialist conditions as they don’t seem to immigrate here or to the U.S. as much. Interesting how these things turn out, eh?
