Steve Practices That Good ol’ American-Style Imperialism in Europe

Oh, it’s just too priceless! The blogging romper roomies are a glow with the prospect of their hero Steve fighting evul soshalism in Europe (well, European Union. I  would love to see him try that shit in Norway or Sweden or any of those other Scandinavian countries who do outrank us consistently; those welfare states he hates so much).

Steve is giving economic advice to German Chancellor, Angela Merkel. If you ask me, since he is categorically refusing to participate in that global rainy day tax for banks, he should butt the hell out of their affairs. Another thing: I don’t see Steve trying to tell Obama to reinstate the banking regulations, nor do we see him chastising Congress for their debt.

“I don’t think we should forget the primary crisis here, the fundamental crisis, is not in the financial sector. It is in the finances of certain governments,” he said. “It’s important for all countries to understand that high levels of deficit and debt cannot continue indefinitely and in some countries they are very high and that issue does have to be tackled and it has to be tackled not just in Europe but across the globe.”

Yes, Greece has indeed become a convenient scapegoat for the economic crisis. As Michael Moore predicted on the Rachel Maddow Show awhile back, the other shoe is about to drop. But it will be due to the fact that Obama and Congress have not reinstated any regulation that was scrapped.  Another thing, Greece will probably end up leaving the EU and the euro anyway.  Paul Krugman even says Greece is neither big enough or interconnected enough to cause a global economic meltdown.

Yes, Angie is calling for reforms to the financial sector. Steve calls for reforms. Again, not once do we hear them chide the United States who started this mess in the first place with all their deregulation. In fact, we all know that if Steve had his majority, he would have deregulated Canada’s financial industry.  Give him a majority tomorrow, and it begs the question: would he deregulate? My guess would be yes, because he’s a greedy with greedy friends to pander to. The reason we’re in good shape is that Paul Martin held fast to regulation.

Here’s a good explanation of  how the latest economic crisis began in layman’s terms.

What caused this global fucking recession?
Well, unless you are a right wingnut conspiracy theorist, the blame seems to fall squarely on the banks, corporations, and deregulation.

Predatory lending.

Selling us cheap shit with over the top aggressive marketing campaigns. Cheap shit that falls apart two weeks after the warranty.  Comsumer debt is going to go up.  Go fucking shopping? Bush’s fucking answer to a looming recession.

The commenters at the Grope & Fail, needless to say are all ga ga giddy over this, they seem to be happy that the Europeans will lose their “entitlements”. This, of course, leads me to one conclusion, besides the fact that they like it when misfortune happens to others; they’ve been jealous of European countries’ social programs, no doubt.  Who wouldn’t be?   I know I would much rather be a senior citizen in the Netherlands than here, that’s for sure.  At least their tax dollars yields them better services than ours’ and  of course, the U.S. Instead of trying to keep our programs, they wish misery on others. Real classy.  Yep, to those trolls, it’s business as usual, denouncing evul soshalism. To them, everything is evul soshalism.

Again, I must ask: Greed is supposed to lead to where and what?

Hillary and Steve: Hmmm! Nah, How’s About George and Steve?

Oh, I bet about now Steve is missing his old buddy and puppeteer Georgie Bush just about now, while the  Horrible Hillary just continues to give Stevie these very public spankings.  Way to go Hill! If  only she really deserved that kind of praise.

Other than criticizing him for leaving out three Members of the Arctic council and pretty much omitting Aboriginal  concerns in a meeting of the Arctic Ocean members las Monday, progressives shouldn’t be all that proud of her jabs to St-Stevie, however,  certain blogging romper roomies shouldn’t be so quick to condemn her neither.

Hillary was absolutely right about criticizing the Harpercons’ rather pathetic approach to funding mothers and kids in developing countries, leaving out not only  safe accessilble abortions but contraception as well.

“You cannot have maternal health without reproductive health,” Ms. Clinton said at a news conference after a meeting of G8 foreign ministers in Gatineau, Que. “And reproductive health includes contraception and family planning and access to legal, safe abortion.

Well, no shit, Shirlock! Unfortunately, when con hacks like Norman Spector get their knickers in a bunch with near glee, I have to wonder if this debacle is so great for our side. This simple Harpercon response would be to “Go Tell Obama” as Spector puts it, in referring back to that pathetic health care reform package where Dems tied themselves in a knot, pandering to fetus fetishists, to pass that pathetic bill. Really!

Yeah, yeah, one can argue they had no choice but to add that anti-abortion stuff in order to pass this pathetic watered down health care bill, but it doesn’t wash, as Obama did have every opportunity last summer to pass something much better if he weren’t so busy pandering to Rush and Fox News Crowd and trying to convince the tea-bagger hit parade he wasn’t any Marxist Muslim out to take over the world in vain.

I’m glad they passed something, I guess something is better than nothing, but it also takes away credence from her statements regarding contraception and abortion funding in Developping countries.

I would say that it’s about now Stevie should start missing the old guard of Georgie and Dickie: evangelical Christian Fundies of a feather.

Monday, she had also went on CTV to strenuously request the Harpercons to extend our mission in GW Bush’s war in Afghanistan: Ya know, the one President Obama took ownership of so unnecessarily?

Her willingness to ruffle feathers here – on Monday, she criticized Canada’s convening of a meeting on the Arctic and publicly asked for Ottawa to keep troops in Afghanistan past a 2011 deadline – is hinting at underlying tensions between Washington and Ottawa that have surprised some diplomatic observers

Tensions between Washington DC and Ottawa, hmmm! Wouldn’t be the first time.  Was this a tactical ploy to convince St-Stevie to extend the mission beyond 2011? St-Stevie maintains that he will not extend the mission. Of course he wouldn’t: for two reasons.

First and foremost, most Canadians want this mission to end yesterday, let alone 2011.  To most, that is still too far as it is.  Don’t be fooled, St-Stevie has proven that he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the Canadian population and to this day, he still hasn’t proven otherwise.  St-Stevie is every bit the war monger Georgie W Bush was (and more than likely, still is). It is for this reason I don’t think he’s flat out refusing rather than postponing a formal agreement to extend the mission.

For more than likely the same reason Steve is reintroducing that whole taking away that per vote subsidy from political parties, he is planning an election for this fall, perhaps even sooner.  If he agreed to extending the mission now, even if a Rethuglican like Georgie or even See Sawah Run or hell, even Johnny Boy McCain asked him, it would be the biggest act of political suicide.

Great way to lose a general election.  According to what I’ve  read in the Blogging Romper Roomies from time to time, the Afghan war is wearing thin on Conservative voters as well.

The other thing is, as much as Steve has been sucking up to Obama to get some table scraps of hi “Buy American” legislation,  the ‘wrong’ people are asking him.  As mentioned, he may well have still refused to extend the mission from even the Rethuglicans…today. That certainly doesn’t mean that St-Stevie would even say no to them later…like after he wins a majority come this Fall, or sooner. Hell, he may even accept extending the mission to the Dems if and when he gets his precious majority, or even now if he wasn’t planning an election.

Funny, how Conservative pundits and their cheerleaders alike lambasted the likes of Jean Chretien and Paul Martin for being anti-American because they just couldn’t make enough of an effort to respect such a hero president like Georgie. Now, it seems that Steve is faster being shunned by Americans and naturally, those very same pundits would switch gears.  In their little world,   St-Stevie can never do anything wrong in their little worlds.  However, I digress…

Yes, as I’ve mentioned above, I’m quite certain that Steve would want to seek comfort with Georgie because, Hillary is just too mean and clever for him, if not a bit hypocritical herself.

St-Stevie Youtubed…and Punked and Toasted!

Sorry, but for those who thought this posting was going to be my cents into the whole Stevie answering questions on Youtube, well, you’ve just been punked as ol’ Ashton Kutcher would say…at least in part.

I will say this though, I’m still trying to submit a question and for whatever reasons, my questions keep getting rejected on that site. It figures, St-Stevie doesn’t like press conferences, because he can’t control the agenda, and as well all know, Steve only thrives when he controls the agenda, so, when Dmitri Soudas and St-Stevie’s other flunkies of their techno-geek flunkies go over the questions, don’t count on the most voted for to be selected, count on only easy questions, so that would mean the wanker set pushing Steve to Americanize what’s left of our universal health care system or to restrict abortion or to adapt life sentences for marijuana posession will probably be disappointed as he won’t touch upon them as long as he is in election campaign mode. However, do go to the site and vote up or down the questions over there, and if you wish to try, post a question of your own. Dylan over at Right of Center Ice and Alison over at The Galloping Beaver posed some of the bigger doozies for questions and of course the winning theme amongst the Youtube crowd, Legalizing marijuana!

There, my two cents…

Now, on to Stevie Youtubed…  How’s about some Saturday afternoon cartoons? They’re somewhat dated, but, as you all know, sometimes what’s old is new again.  One of them even stars Ashton Kutcher, actually.

Here’s to “chest cold removers”

Holy Water–the new truth serum

I wonder if anyone can give St-Stevie some of that “holy water” at Question Period, Press Conferences, C-Pac, etc..?

Lesson of the day for Stevie? He needs more fibre! Brown Toast!

Hey, that’s one catchy tune! I wonder if we can find some equally catchy lyrics, that this could be our new national anthem?

Stevie Says Fuck Off Canada! Let’s Extend the Same Courtesy!

From  A Creative Revolution. Go!

Just a thought, We weren’t hit as hard as the U.S. by Global recession that Stevie’s big buddy, Georgie caused largely in part anyway.  Why is Stevie hell bent in turning us into Bush era U.S.?

When will you buy a clue? President Obama already pretty much told you to fuck off in his own way, while you were trying to look for another American buddy. He doesn’t want to be your buddy.

Oh Stevie,  if torturegate wasn’t important to Canadians, why run away? Why not show the uncensored documents to Canadians? If as you say it’s no  big deal…then show Canadians how it’s no big deal.

Looks like your merry band of thieves are introducing underwear scans with choice between visual or physical legalized gov’t pornography disguised as security.  What a high opinion held for the good citizens!

Now off to further  buffer the senate with your porky, illiterate friends.  I never want to hear that whining again about the Liberal stacked senate. Think again if you think Stevie will introduce the notion of an elected senate. Something tells me that if let loose with the dastardly majority,  there will probably be no more elections again. Whatever the case, after killing the Court Challenges Program and stacking the senate, I never wanna hear that whining about left winged idealogues dominating the courts.
