More Coalition Talk: Could This Simply Be a Way to Get Jack Layton to Sign Iggy’s Walking Papers?

I’m all read out of blogs and columns over coalition governments. However, I picked up this interesting take by Chantal Hebert, where she not only hints at a Bob Rae/Iggy division.  We hear Iggy and his friends categorically telling Canadians a coalition with anyone is out of the question. We hear of rumours . . . → Read More: More Coalition Talk: Could This Simply Be a Way to Get Jack Layton to Sign Iggy’s Walking Papers?

All That Coalition Talk —Again, Damned if They Do: Damned if They Don’t.

It appears that this will be the topic of conversation this summer along with the freedom flotilla.

Personally, I still think the left of center parties should merge outright, but sadly, as time goes further along and the NDP keeps sniping at the Liberals, I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Nor a . . . → Read More: All That Coalition Talk —Again, Damned if They Do: Damned if They Don’t.

Careful What You Wish For…You Might Just Get It

Well, well, the NDP are getting closer to Harpercon mentality, aren’t they? As retired History professor and broadcaster and sometimes contributor here at  SSM, Graeme Decarie pointed out, the NDP no longer stand for much, do they? But I disagree, they are no longer gentle even.

In addition to doing everything possible to . . . → Read More: Careful What You Wish For…You Might Just Get It

What Are the N.D.P. up to These Days? And What do they Stand For Now?

Questions I keep asking myself as of late.

I have heard many talk of Iggy resembling Brother Steve, only a lighter version. However, what about the NDP, here?

Everytime we see or hear Thomas Mulcair talk, he can’t seem to resist slamming the Liberals at every turn. I think he slams them as . . . → Read More: What Are the N.D.P. up to These Days? And What do they Stand For Now?

New Budget–No Poison Pills–For Now

Ricky P is on CJAD live discussing the budget just handed down.  CJAD morning show’s Andrew Carter will be talking to Jimbo Flaherty, hisself!

Like the the Throne speech last night, this budget has no surprises. Not even a poison pill…this time around.

I was kind of expecting Flaherty to bring back that . . . → Read More: New Budget–No Poison Pills–For Now

Now Danny Williams Has Just Pissed Me Off and a Lesson Jack Layton Should Learn

I was one of the few who actually didn’t make a big stink over the guy going off to the U.S. for his heart surgery, due to the fact many of Canada’s rich and famous go to the U.S. and Europe for treatment when they have the money to just pay for that . . . → Read More: Now Danny Williams Has Just Pissed Me Off and a Lesson Jack Layton Should Learn

Here We Go Again! Stevie Doing What He Does Best: Play Divide and Conquer

Oh hell, here we go again. In my earlier post, I had mentioned that Duceppe was elsewhere giving speeches and Iggy said he wasn’t invited to a pre budget release meeting and that only Jack Layton would be in attendance. Remember, he was the one who did not vote with the January 2009 . . . → Read More: Here We Go Again! Stevie Doing What He Does Best: Play Divide and Conquer

Not Only C.R.U.S.H. Stevie’s Numbers, but Also Push for the Coalition: This Time With Feeling

I read Thwap’s (Thwap’s Schoolyard)  post today regarding his distaste for Iggy and the Liberals.  He leaves the impression that the Stevie and Iggy aren’t that much different as he refers to Iggy as ‘Harper-lite’, particularly if he becomes prime-minister as well as predicting that a minority would be the best they can . . . → Read More: Not Only C.R.U.S.H. The Game Has Changed…Canada is Ready For a Coalition

I have always thought that an outright merger between the Liberals and The N.D.P. with perhaps the Greens (although, if one looks carefully, they’re not really left of center)  would be what’s best.

I certainly understand Dylan’s concerns (Right of Center Ice) about a coalition government being a bad idea based largely in . . . → Read More: The Game Has Changed…Canada is Ready For a Coalition

Harpercon Cheerleaders Are Too Busy Being Hateful to Even Wish Jack Layton a Speedy Recovery

And to think we’re considering scrapping gun control in Canada all together. These people would shoot their own grandmothers just to sell the family jewels. YIKES!! Talk about the decline of society! Talk about Canadians becoming American Rednecks.

Jack Layton has announced that he has prostate cancer but will remain as leader of . . . → Read More: Harpercon Cheerleaders Are Too Busy Being Hateful to Even Wish Jack Layton a Speedy Recovery

Jack Layton Wrote Me Back!

Well, at least someone with access to be able to compose emails from his account anyway.  It may even be (probably) a  mass mailing responding to those who wrote to him. But, it’s something; some semblance to make us feel better:

Here goes the email response:

Well, It’s a Start! See What Can Be Done When We Make the Effort?

Well, it appears that social media is really giving a run for the money against the corporatist media.

It’s about time!  For openers, the Facebook group, Canadians against the Proroguing of Parliament , is now nearing 50, 000 members and growing. There are other such Facebook groups, whose memberships are also growing.
