Sister Sage’s Musings Turns One Today – And What a Learning Experience It Has Been! Sharing Memories

It seems  just like yesterday I began my first post when SSM was at blogspot, back in the days with those rather boring looking cookie-cutter themes. I noticed Blogger has improved on that since then.

What’s funny is that I had never meant for Sister Sage’s Musings to be a political blog.  When I first opened the account in June, 2009, I had originally meant it to be more of an online journal of my trials and tribulations as I hit middle age; more of a personal nature.  Maybe some thoughts of the news I had heard earlier in the day or week, but nothing more. I had put up a few posts which I had since scrapped and come to think of it, they  don’t seem important anymore and I had given up on blogging altogether, but kept the blogger account open.

It’s funny, I was one of those (somewhat) politically apathetic folks.   While I always voted at every election since I was old enough to do so, as I believe that we don’t have the right to bitch about the government we have if we don’t vote, I believed that all politicians & the two main parties; Liberals and Progressive Conservatives were pretty much the same although, I kept a higher watch as I observed the growth of Reform and the merger of the Cons and, like so many Canadians, stared at the TV with utter horror and disbelief as I saw ol’ Stevie spiteful get elected as PM, but never believed it would last as long as it has.

I was also one to take a lot for granted, that Steve would never get his majority, that would never lose medicare or any other of our social programs, etc. I woke up for the first time after learning about the Shona Holmes lawsuit against her own government, as well as slandering Canada to unsuspecting Americans. It was my first taste of political discussions on line; on Facebook and then Twitter much later on. Observing and reading all the current events, as well as being introduced to political blogs from both sides of the borders was the beginning of my wake up call; that lesson on how we can’t take anything for granted because anything can happen if we allowed ourselves the luxury of being lulled into a false sense of security.

The first Canadian political blog I followed regularly was A Creative Revolution.  Pale & Dr Prole introduced me to something; straight talk. Two average, concerned women expressing their concerns for what is happening to Canada and the world out there without the usual increasing Harpercon-friendly bias in the usual corporate media outlets I was discovering.  Pale and Prole  were providing an alternative; voices from women who don’t owe anything to anyone; no editors to change their words beyond recognition (hell,  that happens to letters to the editor!), nobody pulling their strings; thus more credible opinions.  How refreshing! I would be introduced to others of equal quality and entertainment later like  Dr Dawg and The Galloping Beaver. I thought to myself, Hell! I had so much frustration for that corporate media with their right winged slant and Harpercon sympathies, How clever! Put your own opinion out there and perhaps even add some truth where corporate media may have left out.   That’s when I decided that Sister Sage’s Musings would become a  political blog, for the most part, due to my frustration with corporate media.  That, of course, was the easy part.  I had no idea what kind of trials and tribulations I would be up for. So many lessons I’ve learned. Sometimes to the point where I had entertained even leaving blogging altogether. Battle fatigue and migraines were but a few issues.

I’ve met a lot of interesting people once my blog was aggregated at Progressive Bloggers. I liked, and still do, like the information sharing. For an introverted individual who thinks socializing should be reserved for work only, I have found much of the interaction fun.  Many history & economics buffs, whom my dad would have loved to meet, having taught both those subjects himself during his teaching career.

Then, through Canadian Cynic, I had been introduced to the dark side, the Blogging SupposiTories. I had learned why CC was so amused by them. Wow! I had no idea this was what conservatism was about.  Having been raised by a regional union rep for the Montreal Teachers’ association and a staunchly left winged mother, and their friends, for the most part all seemed to be like minded, I don’t think I was ever really exposed to Conservatives, well, those who voted the old Progressive Conservative, but I never remembered them being as stupid, or as demonic or (in some cases) as psychotic as the Blogging SupposiTories, nor do I remember them ever promoting greed above all.   I still ask myself if this is a new phenomenon or is this the way they’ve always been, only now they’re unplugged?

I got tired and took a brief hiatus before Christmas, as many remember. I had decided to quit smoking and was battling other health issues, as well as a change in my job description at work. This was not conducive for battle.  Being nicotine deprived also gave me blogger’s block (I don’t call myself a writer. I’m too dyslexic and I also  create digital art as many have seen to reflect my thoughts on current events.  Besides, I have noticed that many bloggers tend to be auditioning for careers in journalism or other professional writing gigs or are already established; this is not my case. I have no interest in that whatsoever. That would defeat the original purpose as to why I started my blog in the first place), among other hideous withdrawal symptoms.  By the by, for those who haven’t kept up, I finally fell off the wagon end of June/early July, when my brother and his girlfriend came to town and I decided to light up with them.  Not the end of the world. In fact, I feel like my old self again.

I eventually did decide to go back to blogging, but not on blogspot. I wanted to design my own site & be self-hosted. I really didn’t like the cookie cutters offered at blogger. WordPress had much cooler theme designs and more to choose from, but I wanted my own designer original that no one else had.   As a graphic artist, I have photoshop and Illustrator skills to come up with something cool, just a dummy at coding.  I looked through tutorials until  my husband downloaded Artisteer for me for one of my Christmas gifts. That application provided the templates, but I could provide my own backgrounds, pics, icons, rss buttons, so  I still got to put up my designer original.  Hey, I got green hosting services to boot!  Sister Sage’s Musings’ new home was finally unveiled New Years’ Eve. New Year-new start-new site.

I still had a challenge though; how to blog without cigarettes?  I somehow managed though, prorogation was happening and I joined the Montreal anti-prorogation  rally planning committee.   The rest came on its’ own.

I eventually had  a co-blogger who provided a different progressive view and a much different style.  I wanted other co-bloggers because I wanted to branch out to other projects.   The Left Hand, of course, is welcome to come back and blog here anytime. I’m still looking for a  progressive co-blogger to blog in either in French or English.  I have to say that having guest contributors and / or a co-blogger has been a positive experience for me.

Many firsts. Many situations I didn’t know how to handle. One such example was when  I blogged my response to the passing of President Obama’s heavily watered down health care bill; the post ended up being  marksteyn.com’s reader of the day.  With that came a bunch of traffic.  Problem was, did I want that kind of traffic? My comments section was bombarded; suffice to say, some of them had strange ideas as to what a love letter consisted of. I remembered being in a total panic, emailing a fellow prog blogger, ‘what do I do?’  But after  reading his advice,  I realize that there’s no such thing as bad traffic, but it’s more how one handles the trolls that decide to spew their toxic venom.  I still have trouble have trouble with that to this day. I laugh about it now.  Jokes like Sister Sage went to the wrong side of the tracks and stuff like that. I have to admit, it is funny.

Speaking of trolls and having difficulty cutting them off and dealing with them, I learned how toxic some can be and how persistant.  I learned that sometimes having the best of intentions and wanting to encourage debate and freedom of expression,  sometimes it just doesn’t work out that way and yes, I had to ban a few folks.  Discourse can’t be had with those who think General Pinochet is their hero, or  those who believe victory is using sock puppetry.  Yes, I had no idea how much evil there was, here in Canada, before I joined the blogging world. I wish I never discovered them, but at the same time,  I know I had to, because ignorance is not bliss in this case.

I think what’s been hardest for me in the past year, were disagreements with fellow progressive bloggers. Not the minor skirmishes; those are to be expected.  After all, Progressive bloggers are a mix of people from socialists to red tories.  I’m somewhere in between the two these days. As much as I like socialist ideals, I know most of Canada is not that way and they fear it; they’re in the center.  No, what I mean are some of the more serious disagreements I’ve had with a few of them over certain issues, be it current events or even over the handling of certain trolls.   Some, regrettable, and I think moving past those,  and looking back, I’m not proud of myself.  Others, while never easy, are sometimes unavoidable.  It is my goal to come to some kind of truce, but at the same time, I know conflicts could come up again when certain issues elicit such passions.

Now, here I am, exactly one year later. I obviously still have a lot to learn.   I am still meeting interesting people throughout the blogosphere and some, rip-roaringly entertaining, if nothing else. Sometimes, one has to laugh at the Blogging SupposiTories (most of them, anyway); as my Dad would say, if they had half a brain, they’d be dangerous.

Will I still be here next year, doing battle? I don’t know.  But, honestly, I never believed Sister Sage’s Musings, as a progressive political blog would have lasted this long, given all that has happened in the past year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have provided moral support, encouragement, advice and cared enough to  let me know when I was on the wrong track and to quit while I was behind via email. You all know who you are!

Maybe We Ought to Thank Sen Ruth & Some Sage Advice From a Prog Blogger-The Last Thing We Should be Doing is to ‘Shut the Fuck Up!’- Part D’Uh

Ever since Senator Nancy Ruth started swearing like a sailor last Monday, it has gotten people talking and bloggers blogging, even corporate media to some degree. Since she  had her tantrum, we learned of 14 groups to date having had their funding cut. That’s getting even more folks talking and bloggers blogging further. One positive blogging trend amongst progressive bloggers since then has been sounding the alarm bells, warning of what can come if Steve ever got his majority, something I’ve known all along, but folks have ridiculed me for fear mongering–never mind Harpercon supporters, but by those who claim to be left of center/progressive! I think a lot of them have been woken up by Senator Ruth’s adversarial speech and ominous warning. So, for that, (don’t get me wrong, doesn’t excuse the menacing tone), maybe we owe her a thanks for this wake up call.

It is, however, sad, that such a champion of women’s rights has been reduced to threatening aid groups to shutting the fuck up and telling them to sit and be quiet like good little boys and girls.  Over at Big City Lib’s, commenter Holly Stick @5:05Pm is another person who compares the relationship between Brother Steve and everyone else (his own caucus, opposition parties, NGOs and of course, voters themselves) is very much that of battered woman syndrome—we be quiet, we don’t rock any boats, only for Steve do commit some other insidious act anyway.  However, as any women’s organization or therapist will say, the cycle must be broken. The question becomes, how do we do it? The answer is not easy and needless to say that our usual silence and apathy simply won’t do it. And yes, it has to be more significant than the CAPP rallies last January.

Before I go on, I would like to share a few items. The first, is a note I was tagged on yesterday on Facebook. It’s from a Grope & Fail commenter and it bears repeating here for all those left of center/progressives who still don’t fear a Harpercon majority. It’s a reminder of everything Steve has already said and done with a minority:

A commenter there says……

Q: Who gives Harper money with this record?

• Enticed recently re-elected Liberal MP David Emerson to cross the floor & join Cabinet
• Appointed friend & party organizer Michael Fortier to the Senate then elevated him to Cabinet
• Produced manual to train Conservative House of Commons Committee Chairs on how to make the Committees dysfunctional
• Promised not to tax INCOME TRUSTS, then taxed them
• Said he wouldn’t “cut and run” in Afghanistan, now he’s running in 2011
• Cut taxes for corporations and high income earners – BILLIONS LOST
• Cut GST from 7 % to 5 %, losing over $12 BILLION annually
• Created a structural deficit of $20 BILLION
• In 2008 told Canadians there would not be a recession, then biggest recession since the 1930 Depression occurred
• In 2008 told Canadians the federal government would never run a deficit
• Total deficit now $40 BILLION
• BILLIONS spent on military for war
• Cut spending on national child care program with provinces
• Cut Kelowna Accord for Aboriginal people to receive national average in services
• Promised open & accountable government, then muzzled Conservative MPs & Cabinet Ministers
• Will cancel public financing for political parties so that corporations can decide which parties receive financial support
• Prorogued Parliament in 2008 to avoid a non-confidence vote & loss of government
• Prorogued Parliament in 2009 to avoid accountability on Afghanistan, a House of Commons subpoena, & the Parliamentary Budget Office revealing Harper has mismanaged finances
• Appointed 27 Senators in 1 year including a 35 year old
• Passed fixed date election law-then broke it
• Alleged to have bribed dying MP Chuck Cadman for his vote
• In & Out scheme took $1 million from taxpayers to fund advertising in 2006, unethical

Threatening to cut aid to other nations if they don’t “Shut the f— up!”

No freedom of choice or freedom of speech!!

A: The same people who funded the angry Conservative Reform Alliance Party or CRAP. Stuff it!

The following two videos from Pale Cold also are must views. The first one, I’ve posted over here a few times, but will post again. It aptly demonstrates the powerful Socon element of the Harpercons.

The next video best describes that whole “boiling the frog” analogy Bob Evans, a guest once used  on Anne Lagace Dowson’s show. You know, Steve’s incremental measures that are not legislated like cutting funding  for various programs and changing regulations.

Click here to see more of Pale Cold’s videos, they are informative and entertaining at the same time, as well as short, for those who do have short attention spans.

Also, here are two examples here and here as to why speaking out is so necessary to speak out and how much harm silence can cause to society, anywhere, really. One from Judy Rebick yesterday and another from Filasteen.  Both point out how silence and crawling into hiding not only isn’t helpful, but this cringing inaction makes us accomplices to the problem.

We hear the Harpercon cheerleaders cheer every time something bad or damaging  happens with the opposition,  the rare media page that isn’t in lockstep with the Harpercon mantra. When they keep hammering how Canadians are more conservative, many of us  actually believe it. In part, due to some of their bullying nature, and of course, we run scared. When they tell us to suck it up, we have the wrong attitude, we actually do suck it up.  I’m wondering how many progressive bloggers have given up blogging because they have resigned themselves to a neo-con Canada a la George W Bush Americana?

An example of this was the CAPP rallies (Canadians against Prorogation of Parliament) last January.  While successful to varying degrees, there were flaws that the corporate media pounced us with. I (and many others, I would hope) would take that as fear on the part of Harpercon cheerleaders for not being able to serve their kool-aid du jour. Nonetheless, other than a few snap rallies and splinter groups with different goals coming up, the movement fizzled out very quickly, rather than attempting to keep up the momentum.

Well, Pogge explains that  without opposition (and no, he isn’t talking about Opposition parties here; he is talking to us; the voter; the Canadian population) to Brother Steve’s ideologies and actions,  pundits and these politicians get away with pumping this growing neo-con Canada is happening and how we must embrace it rather than fight it. While we’re at it, Pogge also offers some very sage advice to us:

And perhaps most importantly, those politicians who might be willing to stand up and push back will feel like they have no support. If you want opposition politicians to support your positions, you have to make those politicians feel as though you’ll support them in return. Or they’ll shut up, too.

Once again,  it has fallen upon us to get  Steve out of office. I won’t presume to speak on behalf of Pogge. However, I will interpret the above quote as to what it means to me. But do read his post.

We’re now awake to the frightening hint of how a Harpercon majority would look? Want to prevent it? We must change our attitudes toward the opposition. In short, we have to stop blaming them and take some of the responsiblity, ourselves.

For that to happen, not only do we have to change our apathetic ways and make all kinds of noise, but we’re going to have to (I have been guilty of this as well)  stop whining about them or expecting too much, as I’ve noticed some have. When some see they can’t get a party they like into power and lament about the poor choices between Liberals and Cons, those folks tend to either stay home from the polls on election day or they spoil their  ballots if they do vote it would seem.

We keep hearing the same tunes over and over again: ideas! Where are the ideas and policies? How will they earn our vote? The opposition is soooo weak! Ideas! And I’m not just talking about conservative pundits or the blogging tories: they have an agenda they’re sticking to. They don’t want an opposition. They want a clear path to a Harpercon majority and they are ready to do anything for that to happen.  No, I’m talking about the left/Progressives.  Yes, there are legitimate questions and points up there. However, the Liberals (I will talk about the Liberals, not because the NDP or the Bloc don’t suffer the same problems and nit-picking, nor because the Liberals are my favourite party by any stretch of the imagination,  but the other 2 parties will never ever govern and folks know this; it’s probably why they don’t receive as much criticism as the Liberals)  can’t seem to win with us can they?  They present an idea, we criticise it for being too vague or too anemic or whatever.

Remember Stephane Dion’s proposed carbon tax and his green shift? We pummelled him for it.  We accused him of not being able to throw daggers at Steve. So what did we do? We voted Steve back in with a stronger mandate (and yes, unfortunately, staying home or spoiling the ballot favours the Harpercons in this instance).

When Iggy gave the closing speech at the Canada 150 in Montreal, many lamented about the speech as if they were determined to keep a closed mind and not even try to find any positive in it. What were we expecting? To see Iggy and his caucus put on a three ring circus, jumping through flaming hoops and swinging from a trapeze?  Conservative pundits are touting this event as a failure and we’re not coming out discussing anything positive that came from it.

Recently, Iggy proposes a national food policy and we scoff at it or say it isn’t enough. Well, another way of looking at that is under Brother Steve, there would be nothing of the kind, nada! We can say, yes, it’s a start.  There are other ideas over at the Liberal Party site. I invite you to read them with an open mind.

We complain about them not having a strong opposition to the Harpercons. Well, when they try to be oppositional, we make them pay and pay dearly for that. Remember the proposed coalition? I know for a fact not just Harpercon supporters, but Liberal  and NDP supporters as well (I have spoken to such people; co-workers, aquaintances, etc.)

When Iggy threw the gauntlet last fall, we contributed to sending his numbers plummeting.  I’m not a fan  of  some of what the NDP have been doing in recent years, but if not for Jack Layton, we would probably be living what we once thought not so long ago to be unthinkable today; a Harpercon majority.  Yes, Layton was lambasted for propping them up, in spite of those looming numbers favoring a Harpercon majority, I guess many would have been willing to throw the dice on that, not realizing that a Harpercon majority would simply not be four years of the same rule as other years gone by.

No, Iggy isn’t an ideal leader.  Yes, he’s too corporate friendly. Do the Liberals need to come up with more policies?  Definitely.

Yes, we need a less corporate friendly Parliament with parliamentary reform, but we’re not to get it with Brother Steve.  If he does get that coveted majority, there will be parliamentary changes, but it’s a safe bet we won’t like them.

Then, many lament that the Liberals would only maintain the status quo.  Another way of looking at it is if we get a Harpercon majority, guaranteed, the status quo will change all right. But I think we’re going to refer to what have today as the “good ol’ days”.  Remember Steve did say that after he was done with Canada, we would no longer recognize it.  Harpercon MP Gerry Ritz said that if they ever got a majority, “All Bets would be off”.

Then there are those who ask the Liberals and the NDP :  What would you do to earn my vote? Well, Read the copied and pasted note above, watch Pale Cold’s videos, read quotes from Harper, clearly illustrating what he has said and done ane what he would do.   Click here and here, the legwork has been done on those sites.  I can pretty well guarantee that  the opposition parties won’t provide that climate of fear. For openers, following the Sen. Ruth event, we know Stevie Spiteful will criminalize abortion, here in Canada.  The opposition won’t.

We’re even more divided than the other side, and you know something? I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Steve’s game of Divide and Conquer has not only created a wedge between opposition parties thus ruining chances of  his biggest fear, a coalition, but he has divided us;  left of center/progressive pundits and citizens alike. That is exactly how a batterer succeeds in keeping his victims in submission. He isolates them from the outside world and even create a wedge between the victims and their entourage. Brother Steve has proven time and time again that he is no different than a batterer.

If we and the opposition are battered by Brother Steve? What should we do? Well, for the most part, battered women who manage to successfully escape do so with help, either from family, friends (estranged or not) and from their community resources offered to them. Likewise, in order to break away from Steve, we’re going to have to take action. Start showing support to our opposition parties. Yes, even  if that means holding our noses and voting Liberal, or better yet, lobby for a coalition with the Liberals and NDP.  We do this by writing to our MPs, write letters to the editor, start or join a grassroots movement like  Canadians Rallying to Unseat Harper who are presently funding and creating ads for newsmedia.  Find the time to volunteer for an opposition party. Do something. Because doing nothing but lamenting about the sorry state of affairs and lambasting the opposition simply won’t do it. As Pogge also said, if that is all we can do is sit and allow the Harpercons and their cheerleaders to steamroll over the Canada we always knew, we might as well pack it in and wait for everything to just happen to us.

If we want real change from the status quo like parliamentary reform, again, it won’t happen under a Harpercon minority or majority. He’s proven that after stacking the senate, prorogation and his schoolyard bullying. I say this reform starts with supporting the opposition to get Steve out of office once and for all and then work toward reforms we may want to  have happen.

I have been guilty myself for writing despondent posts, but I still haven’t given up my blogging, for I know if I do, I will only be contributing to the problem.

I am repeating  what I have said before in other posts, but in light of Senator Ruth waking up a lot of Canadians with her terse words, I am hoping that this time readers who disagreed with me in the past, might, at least, keep an open mind this time around.

Sidenote: I’m  borrowing the  term “d’uh” sported by progressive bloggers like the Wingnuterer and Unrepentant Old Hippie.

Sister Sage’s Musings is Looking For a Guest Contributor

I am indeed looking for a guest contributor, a task I have put off long enough.

As Sister Sage’s Musings is a Canadian left leaning blog, I am of course looking for contributors with the same mind frame. Not that I discriminate, and I may be open to sharing another blog with someone of the Conservative persuasion, provided they sound intelligent of course, which excludes pretty much everyone from Romper Room (Blogging Tories). It’s something I always wanted to do, but that will have to wait.

However, Sister Sage’s Musings is, has always been and will continue to be left winged. Therefore these/this  contributor(s) has to be left winged.  I would also prefer that this/these  contributors be Canadian.

I am the sole proprietor of this self-hosted wordpress blog and I intend to remain that way, so, no, I’m not looking for any financial contribution for hosting fees or things like that. Hence, the term guest contributor (s).

I am very proud of how Sister Sage’s Musings has been evolving and growing and would like to keep it up.  I certainly intend to remain active.  If I sometimes have to take a day or two or even a week or two off, I still want some activity continued as much as possible.

However, as many of my readers know, I have been sacked with health issues, like migraines which sometimes prevent me from the rigorous task of research, writing and typing. It is also the reason I haven’t contributed any new digital satirical artwork as of late.

I also have other projects which have been put off long enough that I must start making a dent in.

One of the benefits of guest contributing, it gives you a chance to express your views and have them read. It is also ideal for those who are interested simply in part time and/or sporadic blogging without committing to his/her own web site–either self-hosted or not. Can also be ideal for bloggers who wish to sometimes contribute elsewhere to find a different audience.

If you like politics and like either writing or cartooning or other forms of political satire, please email me .  Have to say, my blog is the best unpaid writing job I’ll ever have!

Today’s Corporate Media Hacks-Not Only Hypocritical, But Also, Sore Losers!

Yikes! Where do I start?  Pale and Montreal Simon wrote articles on this subject recently. There should be a whole anthology with a mass collaboration on the subject, especially since that Facebook group grew, demonstrations are being organized across Canada among other activities being planned. All this, thanks to social media; the blogosphere; blog aggregators such as Progressive Bloggers.

Today, we are standing up to Corporate Media hacks.

Now, hacks like Don Crook of  Blogolotics at the Grope & Fail, who  gets his math wrong and must humble himself to correct it. He posts the radio show of a fellow hack; the one & only, Chuckles Adler. Remember him? Let me refresh your memory: The one who referred to us as elitists who did nothing all day but suck on lattes in coffee houses?

You can catch the audio of Chuckles ranting alongside Matt Gurney of National Posties and of course, Christopher White, the founder and sole administrator of the Facebook group, Canadians against the Proroguing of parliament. I love how Gurney and Chuckles ranted at White about there being censorship on the site: that dissenting views being posted are being deleted  almosts as quickly as they were posted in the first place to hear them tell it. White at least pointed out what I hoped he would: that these folks may well have been deleting their own posts just to cry out censorship.

Chuckles would go on to poke fun at the site, as if it were nothing serious but a bunch of graphics and Nazi references.  I think what Chuckles doesn’t like (and I expect many others from that corporate media machine) is that it already started accomplishing something.  Conservatives and Centrists who had been pushed to Stevie’s hard right have joined us. These are folks who are particular fans of free speech. These people also tend to be for senate reform and thus, one of  Stevie’s promises that attracted them to vote for him in the first place was senate reform. Proroguing parliament in order to stack up the senate with his friends and cheerleaders, of course, would sour them toward Stevie.

Speaking of censorship hypocrisy; Take a look at who practises censorship on his blog:

Just a note, it would appear that all of Don Crook’s blogs have disabled comments. Me thinks he protests too much. Hey Cook! Enable comments, will ya?

We are sharing information.

The Liberals are going to show up for work come January 25. With continued efforts our parts, we can perhaps get the NDP and the Bloc Quebecois to join them.

Canadians are writing Stevie, the opposition leaders and their MPs.

Up until now, Canadians had been apathetic. Now, they’re standing up and expressing their distaste for Stevie and the Harpercons’ lastest move.

Stevie runs away, and obviously, social media is  getting louder, making it more difficult for these  Harpercon cheerleaders to spoon feed Canadians what they want Canadians to think.

Here’s a thought for those who may still be struggling with their thoughts about the events of late and how they’re being covered:  and yes, hacks, pay attention. Everyone is free to follow whomever they like, it’s part of democracy, however, if average working Canadians with families and busy schedules are making the time to get Canadians involved or to inform them without payment (except for perhaps Google ad sense; never tried it, but I hear it really doesn’t pay much). We do this because we care. We care about our country and fellow Canadians. We don’t like the direction Stevie and the Harpercons are taking it with their actions and/or inactions as of late. May seem partisan, but we would be doing all of this if another leader were in charge and behaving exactly like Stevie has been.

Hacks, get used it! We’re staying and we will continue to make noise until Canada is steered back in the right direction. And even then, we will continue making noise in order to make sure our country continues in the right direction.

Mocking opposition for intentions of showing up to work? What are you all really afraid of? That they actually may find something damning in their unofficial investigation of torturegate?

Sidenote:  Speaking of  corporate media and the world of communications, guess who Stevie hired for a second time? Yup, none other than one of  his big ol’ buddy Georgie’s buddy, Ari Fleischer. More proof that he’s a Georgie wannabe.

Thank you Christopher White for founding the Facebook group. Readers who are on Facebook, please click the above Facebook link to join this group if you haven’t already. Contrary to what Chuckles, Crook and others have said, it doesn’t matter what usual affiliation you’re with.  You really do make a difference.
