It would all be a mute point if Iffy weren’t the wanker who killed the coalition.
Mulcair does what Mulcair is best at. He put three minister’s heads on pikes when he was in the opposition in Quebec. He’s doing Canada a favour by reminding everyone that the Libs are the same soulless power grubbing jerks they were during the sponsorship scandal. Mulcair’s not wrong in what he says; the truth hurts and that’s politics.

That’s just it, folks like yourself concentrate on all of those events. They tend to forget that the NDP themselves have also been involved with the prop up Steve or helping Brother Steve win campaigns, no matter how inadvertent it may or may not be. Today’s flip-flop from Pat Martin was a reminder of that. If you watched Pat Martin on Question Period yesterday, he was quite vehement about this parliamentary committee and made no bones about issuing subpoenas to Mr & Mrs Disfunctional; today, what happened?

Yes, the liberals voted 77 times with Harpercons and yes, Iggy nixed the coalition back then, but, had Iggy continued to lead this coalition, how long would this have lasted? With Mulcair the mouth slamming the Liberals at every turn. And Jack having backroom meetings alone with Brother Steve.

Have we heard of Iggy having backroom discussions with Brother Steve? IF so, as often as Jack and Steve?

This isn’t the good old days of Trudeau and Broadbent; those two knew how to play well together and even had a pseudo-coalition when Trudeau was in a minority situation. I believe Trudeau had even offered a cabinet position to Broadbent at some point…

You seem to forget that the Dippers and even the Bloc were ready to hold their collective noses and join forces with the “say anything” Libs to take the burden of power off Stevo’s hands. Twas Iffy that put the kibosh on that plan.
BTW, I don’t know what news sources you use, but I saw the Libs back Harper in 77 confidence votes last year. That includes a budget which removes a woman’s right to seek equal pay for work of equal value in the public service and the destruction of the Navigable Water’s Protection Act.

The NDP, helped bring down Martin in 04, and when that happened Kelowna, and child care was lost.

The NDP, attacks the Liberals all the time because they have a fear of being squeezed out.

In 93 when the public had enough of the tories, they turned to the Liberals, and the NDP, went down to 9 seats, and lost official party status. This is their great fear.

In the 88 free trade election, Broadbent turned his guns on Turner, allowing Mulroney to get a second majority government.

After the NDP, defeated Martin in 04, what did they get?

A few extra seats, that is all. They are still the fourth party in the HOC, and have no real influence.

They are silly twits, because they would have their issues paid attention to with a Liberal government. With a conservative government they will get nothing.

Maybe this is a little harsh, but Layton and the NDP, are 100% responsible for Harpo.

I feel they stand for nothing but self preservation. That is all.

In all their years of existence, they have never even formed an official opposition. That should tell them something.

Their big dream is to replace the Liberals, and it is never going to happen.

I hope the Canadian public in the next election figures it out. A vote for the NDP, is a vote for Harper.

The Americans learned that the hard way. Nader delivered Bush.

Third parties are alright, just not when the stakes are so high.

We simply cannot have another Harper government.
