Jymm never said “white supremacist hate”. He said only that one shouldn’t be allowed to preach hate. So that’s what I addressed.

As to preaching “white supremacist hate”, well I don’t see a heck a lot of that around. A few neo-Nazi’s doing Seig Heils in their mother’s basement hardly warrants broad laws against hate speech. Canada is robust enough to withstand it.

In this intensely polarized political atmosphere we all tend to see our opponents as hateful. We can either accept that the other side has a right to speak, even when we despise what they say, or we can wage a censorship war. Trouble is, ck, there won’t be a lot of winners in that war.

We all hate something. The idea that we “can’t preach hate” is absurd, and demonstrates how unsupportable your arguments are.

Free speech is the most important of all freedoms. It’s the key that unlocks all doors. It’s the right which has done more than anything to relieve oppression and improve our lot.

But apparently we’ve now figured what’s right and what’s wrong for all time, and can safely dispense with freedom of speech, limiting ourselves only to saying those things that are correct.
