We don’t, which makes us one of the most enlightened countries in this world. Is that the argument Harper and his followers will use to ban SSM?

They don’t think in terms of it being unlawful or a religious question at all. Volia..done. So much for Canada being ahead of other countries.

I am the ‘that one’ to which you refer, and I’ve never sugggested LTAs are a common occourence in Canada, quite the opposite. I made the point although LTAs are rare that doesn’t mean they should neccessarily be excluded from debate, including the upcoming debate in our Parliament.

I don’t have any problem with you disagreeing with my view, that’s perfectly fair and reasonable. All I ask is that if you’re going to represent my views that you please at least represent what I’ve said accurately.

Thanks.

You don’t even have to give me the time stamp, just the question.

Damn! I thought she was pretty tame. She could’ve gone harder on him. As for Woody. Typical–giving the same ol’ answer to all her questions, pretty much. And yes, he was dancing around the issue.

It’s so rare that media people today do anything but be cheerleaders for the Harpercons that I find it refreshing to find a reporter doing his/her job. If any party/government deserves berating over just about any issue, it’s the Harpercons in spades.

many people are misinformed

Yeah, about our democracy, the Harpercons, etc. I find that more frightening than whether or not they’re informed about our abortion laws. Also, Dr. Dawg seems to have refuted that statement in comments at Gordy’s place.

She also attempted to frame a public debate on when life begins as pro-life or pro-choice, why can’t it be pro-democracy or pro-civic engagement?

As there are no laws on abortion and many people are misinformed, not to mention extremely irrational, having a much needed discussion on when life begins would be beneficial. Like the Canadian Medical Association, I support abortions, but not in the third trimester.
