Vive Le Quebec Libre!

Layton will learn how useless he’ll be in Harperland.  He’ll be outvoted everytime because of a majority.   Layton now spouting about retirement security and public health care in Canada. Ha! He’ll get squat!! Layton, gonna make change happen? Oh yeah, change will happen, but it’ll be a neo-con utopia in Stevie’s vision. . . . → Read More: Vive Le Quebec Libre!

End of The Road: No Time To Be Lulled Into a False Sense of Security and Stevie Can Still Get His Majority

We have no arrived at the end of the road of  election 41 campaign. We have been polled, tweeted,  newsed, etc.   Before I go on, I would like to review all the party’s campaigns briefly.

Maybe there is something to be said for peek-a-boo campaigns? Jane Taber was certainly very complimentary of . . . → Read More: End of The Road: No Time To Be Lulled Into a False Sense of Security and Stevie Can Still Get His Majority

The Winner of The French Debate–Mme Muguette Paille of La Mauricie-Perhaps Canada’s “Joe The Plumber”?

While the punditry, pollsters, bloggers, media types and spin doctors all sort out as to who won and who lost last night’s French language debate, many from Twitter and Facebook have declared another winner.  Not a political leader; not even in politics.  The unsung heroine of last night appears to be none other . . . → Read More: The Winner of The French Debate–Mme Muguette Paille of La Mauricie-Perhaps Canada’s “Joe The Plumber”?

What Needs To Happen In The French Debate This Fine Evening

Tonight’s French language debate will no doubt have much fewer viewers outside of Quebec, but there are many Francophones in the rest of Canada who will probably tune in as well. Not to mention, the punditry will all be out observing with the help of translators no doubt and there will be the . . . → Read More: What Needs To Happen In The French Debate This Fine Evening

Once Again, Bill 101 Is a Provincial Matter, Quibbling Over Dumb Slogans And Reviving The Linguistic War As A Campaign Strategy

I’ve got to stop reading the likes of  anti-feminist Babs Kay when I’m drinking hot coffee.  I invariably end up choking, burning myself and getting it all  over the place.  Perhaps today is the day I learn.

Before I start hammering her,  I have to ask, what was the deal with Gilles Duceppe . . . → Read More: Once Again, Bill 101 Is a Provincial Matter, Quibbling Over Dumb Slogans And Reviving The Linguistic War As A Campaign Strategy

“Parlons Quebec”–Sure, Let’s Talk Quebec–After April 15, Perhaps?

Lately, the Bloc Quebecois have been seeing their polling numbers drop by pretty much every polling firm these days. While they still hold a commanding lead, and 308.com’s last seat projections pretty much have the Bloc remaining in tact, with one gainp–Portneuf-Jacques-Cartier currently held by independent Conservative, Andre Arthur.  So, why are the . . . → Read More: “Parlons Quebec”–Sure, Let’s Talk Quebec–After April 15, Perhaps?

A Vote For The Liberals Is a Vote For the Bloc? How Does That Work?

Yes, a very stupid Harpercon incumbent, Brian Jean,  in Alberta tweeted this today.

… Every vote for the Liberals is a vote for the Bloc. Vote conservative and keep Canada together.

More blackmail and he’s failing miserably at it.

The reality is that most pundits in Quebec, including Chantal Hebert, and many in . . . → Read More: A Vote For The Liberals Is a Vote For the Bloc? How Does That Work?

CK’s Quebec Riding Watch–Part 1 Montreal

Everybody’s coming out with them. I thought I should put in my two cents. I have divided my analysis into two parts as it will be long, particularly my take on Montreal ridings.  I have added some trivia, some trademark CK snark and some humour.

There will be a few notable differences off . . . → Read More: CK’s Quebec Riding Watch–Part 1 Montreal

Pork Served Up In Deep Oil

After a long time, Harpercon flunkie Christian Paradis and his provincial counterpart here, Nathalie Normandeau, have reached an agreement on The Old Harry oil and gas field which straddles the Newfoundland/Laborador and Quebec borders out on the Gulf of St-Lawrence.   Wow! Talk about timing! I mean, the Quebec government has been trying . . . → Read More: Pork Served Up In Deep Oil

Duceppe Issues Stevie Ultimatum

Looks like Duceppe is once again, mad and he ain’t takin’ it anymore.  He’s thrown down the gauntlet–again. This time, it’s those dastardly Afghan detainee documents.   Duceppe has threatened to pull out of the parliamentary committee with the Liberals and the Harpercons if Stevie doesn’t play ball by a certain time.

Gilles Duceppe’s Brilliant Move–Most Completely Miss The Ball, Including Andre Pratte, It Appears

Indeed he did, last night. As if writing for La Presse wasn’t enough, he needed to further poison the rest of Canada against the Bloc Quebecois in the Grope & Fail. As usual, like the other right wingnut faction, they miss the ball or don’t even attempt to think of  Gilles Duceppe’s recent . . . → Read More: Gilles Duceppe’s Brilliant Move–Most Completely Miss The Ball, Including Andre Pratte, It Appears

Ex-Lax Max Sticks His Foot In It Again–Could This Even Cost Him His Seat In The Beauce?

CK’s Predictions For 2011 – Good, Bad and The Ugly

Some will be predictable. Some, many will chide me for being pessimistic; I call it realism, but anyway…  These are my predictions. If any of my co-bloggers and contributors have any predictions, they’re strongly encouraged to do their own posts about them. It would be interesting indeed. Anyhow, on with the festivities as . . . → Read More: CK’s Predictions For 2011 – Good, Bad and The Ugly

Puzzling: The Bloc Quebecois and the NDP Questions

Everyone talkin’ spring election. Most had predicted it long before Iggy even said that he would more than likely not vote for it unless that F35 purchase and corporate tax cuts were removed.  The Liberals had also said they would like to see something in there for Family home care.  Things not likely to happen . . . → Read More: Puzzling: The Bloc Quebecois and the NDP Questions

Eric Duhaime, Contrary To What You Think, You’re Not the Voice of Quebec, In Fact, You Know Shit!

Anyone catch Eric Duhaime’s last excuse of an article yesterday?  Oh Eric, it’s so hard trying to force an agenda most don’t want, isn’t it? “Stars” Shine in Federal By-Elections; Not So Much In Kamouraska-Temiscouata

Well, I noticed that a good many in Vaughan seem to prefer glitter over substance in voting in Robocop Fantino, but only by the slimmest of margins.   Will this mean an early winter election? Could be, if Steve wants to ensure that Fantino run again…as mentioned before, I don’t see Fantino enjoying the . . . → Read More: “Stars” Shine in Federal By-Elections; Not So Much In Kamouraska-Temiscouata

La Marois Is Desperate: Is There Anything She Won’t Do To Be Premier?

I’m sure most have followed the circus that is Quebec politics these days.  Premier Jean Charest is the cheese standing alone while everyone; right/left; federalist/separatist; Anglophone/Francophone are all calling for his head served on a silver platter these days.  Everybody’s singing oops! Sorry, make that shrieking  from the same song book; demanding a . . . → Read More: La Marois Is Desperate: Is There Anything She Won’t Do To Be Premier?
