Postmedia: Don’t cry for us, Canada. We publish creeps like Michael Den Tandt.

I tried to force a tear for Postmedia’s Ottawa bureau cuts but I just can’t bring myself to feel anything for the Conservative media outlet but reserved scorn. Like the Globe & Mail’s consideration of using a paywall, Postmedia is searching in vain for answers to the boogeyman in the room, social media, while ignoring that its own editorial and opinion writers are so full of shit that few Canadians have any respect for the news chain.

The obvious answer to Postmedia’s (and Canadian journalism’s) quagmire is not so much social media but that it publishes assholes. And those assholes are popping up all over the place. Seemingly out the blue, some QMI hack has gravitated to Postmedia. His name is Michael Den Tandt. I have no idea who this bozo is but he makes Con artists Margaret Wente, Ezra Levant and Licia Carbella seem like Edward R. Murrows.

Here’s a guy who merrily calls the NDP leader “Che Guevera” (despite himself sporting the conservative de riguer Jonah Goldberg goatee).

Who thinks the barbaric punishment of caning students is a good idea.

Then there’s his doubling down on falsehoods in a single article about the Jesus T-shirt guy (it wasn’t about the T-shirt; it was about the hateful verbal abuse the bullying wearer heaped on his fellow students) and about Ann Coulter’s embarrassing Ottawa adventure (Coulter refused to speak because the organizers screwed up the timing, leaving a throng of mostly Coulter supporters at the door, with just a handful of demonstrators; Coulter just didn’t want to muss her ‘do walking through a crowd of normal folk). But Michael already knew that. He was just pitching a curveball for the team!

QMI and Postmedia – the worst of the worst in Michael Den Tandt. This is why Postmedia is failing. And why the Globe & Mail is scrambling to make money. Shitty journalists with an agenda. They distort. They confuse. They exclusively promote a Conservative agenda.

But don’t expect the money men behind our 90 percenter Con media to get the picture. They’re too invested in Conservative ideology to recognize the elephant in the room. Canadians are sick of shitty propaganda for a party that lies, cheats and steals. Canadians don’t want Lee Atwater or Karl Rove for journalists – we want balance, diversity and the truth. We’re not getting it with the opinion makers at QMI, Postmedia or the Globe. All we get is shit like Den Tandt. We’re just not buying it anymore.
