Indeed! Who knew that blowing bubbles in someone’s direction could be considered assault?
Oh no!! Those dastardly bubbles! Those cops should have brought out their gas masks. Never mind that. Bring out the hazmat suits!
Ah Pale! By the By, I think our new Governor General could well be Lawrence Welk’s long lost twin brother no one talks about!
Honest to gawd!! Those bubbles we all played with when we were kids long before the days of home computers and video games; when our parents sent us outside to play when it was safe to breath in the air and not worry about collapsing of dehydration from extreme heat. Incidentally, wasn’t that one of the issues many groups who came to protest in Toronto during G20 hootenanny?
I understand his irritation. So, the solution, tell the girl not to blow the bubbles into their eyes, done. She’s just trying to be funny and make a statement at the same time. But, this guy decides to spazz on her just because he’s had a long day in the sun. Well, wear a hat, drink water, and remember that you’re getting paid double time and a half to stand there and do NOTHING.

Ah that overtime pay. This is the thing many on the right and the corporate media conveniently leave out when they attempt to garner sympathy for the cops (ie being called names, having stuff thrown at them and that heavy riot gear in 30 + degree weather). They conveniently leave out that overtime is voluntary. Most of all, they conveniently leave out that when they initially sign up to be cops; part of the gig was to be out in all kinds of weather and having to wear that heavy gear, even in 30++ degree weather; rain or shine; they also are aware when signing on that much of society distrusts and doesn’t like them. If they’re too sensitive to that then they’re in the wrong line of work.
Also, if you listen in the video, the girl does mention twice that she was putting away the bubbles and after he made his threat there were no more bubbles floating in his general direction
It’s damn good thing she didn’t pull out a tickle feather, she could have been tasered.
