Oh yes, ol’ Stock Day has not only hit the height of stupidity, one really has to start being concerned about his mental health; I mean, really concerned. What he just came up with is just so disturbing. His latest rationale for not wanting to maintain the mandatory long census form?
If you are among the groups of people who are demanding this free info I have a question for you based on past ‘quizzes’. Do you think it is right that you can threaten your neighbour with jail time if she doesn’t tell you if she has mental issues or not? Or who does what chores in the house?
Or whether she is a Jew or not? Don’t you find that one even a little bit chilling?
Not nearly as chilling as Stock’s stupidity.
Not nearly as chilling as Stock’s bigotry and shame (including of his own family, it would appear).
And how do you think my grandkids feel (their grandparents are Asian) when you tell them in the long form that it’s not good enough for them to just say they’re ‘Canadian’?
Perhaps Stock is the one giving his grandkids the stigma of having Asian grandparents. I wonder how he treats his grandkids? After all, isn’t he the one promoting white Christian supremacy?
Stock, you don’t hide your mental health issues all that well. All sane Canadians have been painfully aware of your need for Haldol and other psychotropic drugs. Those idiotic statements just prove it’s high time to get your meds adjusted; perhaps some commitment; voluntary or involuntary.
I have to say I was really struck by his comment about his own grandkids. I know he’s not ashamed of their Asian heritage, but at the same time he seems to use it to confirm his own fantasies about intolerance.
I grew up in Vancouver, so it’s not like I’ve never seen an Asian in this country before. It’s just part of the Human landscape in Canada.
If we took society back to the so-called good old days that most Conservatives see as an ideal, his grandkids could hope for nothing more than to open a hand laundry, and hope it doesn’t get taken away as they get sent to a camp somewhere.
And we won’t even go into what would happen to someone like me, because nobody ever did back then.

Bruce, that is a recurring theme with these Harpercons, ain’t it? “The good ol’ Days”. The new GG out of the Man with the Grey Flannel Suit Era; Bring Crime rates back down to the way they were before 1962; etc.
As Jymn, a commenter pointed out on another post of mine, they would love to go back to the days where women were relegated to the kitchen, blacks were hung publicly for sport and Pat Boone was the most raucous thing you heard on radio. The Beatles brought socialism and Obama.
