Shit, haven’t we heard this before? Wasn’t George W. Bush’s biggest hit that he wasn’t ‘intellectually curious’ enough to be president? But that incurious motherfucker lasted two terms, started two wars and destroyed the economy of what was once among the greatest countries on this earth.
Obama will be lucky to last through his one term.
Intelligence has nothing to do with politics, especially in the USA. It’s about show. It’s about fireworks. It’s about Barnum & Bailey sleight of hand. Palin can do it with smoke and mirrors. Five million people tuned in to her church lady nails on blackboard voice TLC deception. It’s about deception and illusion; it has nothing to do with governing.
Linda Murkowski is wildly mistaken if she believes a lack of intellectual curiosity disqualifies Sarah Palin for presidency. It only elevates her chances. We’re talking about America here.
TO JYMN – D’uh to you. Yes – it is indeed important to have an intellectual curiosity – you intolerant, angry Neocon!
Having a nimwit for a CEO who needs to make many complex decisions is bad enough – having one as president??? TELL ME YOU’RE JOKING – YOU NEANDERTHAL!

beebee, If you have ever followed Jymn either here at my site, or over at his blog: Let Freedom Rain, you would know that he is far from being a neo-con or a con of any stripe. In fact, perhaps he’s even further to the left than I am.
Like other progressives, he has no love lost for Sawah, but he seems to understand, as many of us do, how American politics seems to work. It’s all about show, and in this day and age, who can produce the best reality show; who has the sexiest legs; etc. He’s not saying how it should be; he’s tellin’ it like it is.
Of course he believes good politicians should have intellectual curiosity; but unfortunately, most fellow Americans and Canadians, today for that matter, disagree. In fact, they see that as “elitism” and as we all know, “elitism” is apparently evul.
Like Ronald Reagan before her who actually had his governing done by Don Regan and Merrill Lynch, she’s only going to be the center piece to look pretty for pictures and talk down to Americans with that simple “oh gosh…gee…” while actual corporations, probably the Koch brothers and Rupert Murdoch will actually be the co-presidents.
Don’t blame Jymn or myself for that matter for telling the hard truths; blame your fellow Americans who brought the Tea-party in and had the Rethuglicans swing even further right than they ever were. Blame your media, like Fox News who dictate what a good president should be and what attributes they should have.
Thanks Sister for your eloquent response to beebee. As I’ve found lately, my snark is not always accessible to everyone.
And beebee, we’re on the same side – honest.
