Those Classy Tea-Baggers

Just when you think those tea-baggin’ wingnuts can’t sink any lower, they do.  Remember last week when that high school student Amy Myers from Cherry Hill, New Jersey wrote an open letter, challenging Rep Michele Bachman to a debate on all things US constitution? Well, it appears that Bachman hasn’t responded to Ms Myers, but her tea-baggin’ psychotic cheerleaders sure have–with threats of violence.

After it started getting media attention last weekend, commenters on tea party websites have threatened to publish her home address and some have threatened violence.

The 16-year-old from Cherry Hill says several commenters have called her a “whore.”

Her father, Wayne, says he’s concerned for his daughter’s safety.

How lovely!  I always knew these tea-baggers were not above violence to get what they want, but to hurt an engaged, enthusiastic teen-aged girl for challenging an elected official?  Way to get youth politically involved!

Looks like these redneck yahoos are not that confident in their heroine’s odds against young Amy Myers. If they were, why all the vile threats ranging from publishing her home address to raping her?

There is also a facebook page in support of Ms Myers, now over 8,160 members strong.

I am never surprised by how criminal they are willing to be, but it does surprise me that none of their own ever step up and condemn the behavior.

Not that I ever expect to teach any of them anything. You can lead a sheep (well chase it with a dog, anyway)to water, but you can’t make it think!

Coming from someone who calls them “tea-baggers”, that’s pretty funny. Is that supposed to be an anti-gay slur? You’re just as classy as they are…

    anti-gay slur? Not quite.

Given you’ve decided to take a crap here, I gather you have no problem with these wingnuts threatening violence, rape on a teen-age girl then?

I hope you were being sarcastic when you chose the word “classy” in the title of this article. I would have chosen “classless”.
