Cherry picking: military school pulls award to HNIC talking head

Don Cherry’s statement paints himself as the victim, of course. But the reality is not so kind to the puffed up bigot of Hockey Night in Canada. Expect Conservatives to recommence their bawling about liberal thugs tampering with the rights of the Canadian right. (Nice to see them going out of their way to defend the CBC, though.)

UPDATE: Sickening to see how the Cherry/Ford/Sun Media camps all got together to send out the same message, with the exact same wording: Cherry and Ford are‘taking the high road’. Canada’s media = Conservative spin.

UPDATE II: Commenter Southern Quebec notes that it was indeed Don Cherry doing the turning down of the award. While I find it hard to believe that Don Cherry would ever ‘take the high road’ on anything, in this case it looks like that just might be the case.
