Here in Canada, think the likes of Chuckles McVety will lobby Brother Steve to ban the import and sale of Archie Comics , now? Or will he start his own book burning society? Oh, what am I saying? He may already have a book burning group.
But congratz for the decision to introduce Kevin and may there other characters come to join in . After all, Kevin will need a date or dates to fight over him as Archie has Veronica and Betty to fight over him.
This got me thinking, if the comic strip business is willing to make this move to teach inclusion, why is it so hard for the Ontario school system to introduce gay education to kids as young as eight? An interesting fact? Most of my gay and lesbian friends and aquaintances have told me they knew they were attracted to the same sex from the ripe old age of eight or nine. So why shouldn’t they learn about it in the formal setting of a classroom where the information would be most accurate?
C’mon McGinty (other politicians in other provinces too for that matter), if Archie Comics can take this brave step, then so can you. .
