Blogging SupposiTory Hunter is mad, just mad I tell you, and she ain’t takin’ it no more! It seems she had a little spat with her MP. According to the Blogging SupposiTories’ resident “feminist”, it seems that her male MP thought “she was too harsh” in saying that “Islam suppresses women”. Well, Hunter, did you not vote for this MP? Living in Edmonton, and since every Alberta MP is a Harpercon with the exception of one NDP, who is a woman, it’s a pretty safe bet that her elected MP is also a Harpercon. So, Hunter, following that logic of your’s that all of Islam suppresses women, perhaps your Harpercon MP is defending kindred spirits; ever think of that? Just sayin’
I don’t think males understand the fear that females have about sharia. I do not want to have to bow down to Muslim males.
Ah, so what Hunter is really telling all of us is that she won’t bow down to non-Christian brown men, but she would get on her knees in front of her sexist, oh so dreamy Steve and the rest of his male, socon Harpercons and lecture the rest of us left winged fringe to submit to the draconian PMO. I guess all sexist males are not created equal in Hunter’s world, let alone equality between the sexes.
What is this fear of Sharia in Canada and the U.S.? Funny cuz Hunter types just love to be sublimated by men. They want to stay home and serve hubby and be his loyal servant. After all, a women’s place is by her husband’s side and in the home. They want to not have choice with their own bodies. They want male priests and preachers and to keep women out of positions of authority in their religions. They want to wear modest clothing. They want censorship of sexual situations in the arts. (Nudity is obscenity to Hunter and the like.) They want sex outside of marriage to be punished and ridiculed. They want pleasurable drugs to be outlawed and alcohol to be strictly regulated if not part of a new prohibition.
OK, perhaps Sharia law takes all this to a more extreme view of life and laws than Hunter would like. But it’s still just a more extreme view of the same restrictive abrogation of women, pleasure and freedom of expression of western Christian and Jewish faiths. She doesn’t get that for women to be free, men have to free themselves of the power religious women give them. Hunter is the one who would love a milder form of Sharia law to take hold in Canada. But as long as she wants to prostrate herself before men, she will be not much better than women under Sharia. Western women may not be stoned for adultery or have to hide their faces, but don’t tell me deep down the most religious of them would get a kinky kick out of it. They could surely find something in the Bible that would justify it.

Jymn, at the end of the day, all religions are misogynistic, especially when practiced with extremity. It’s one of the reasons I’ve always said that religious extremism, no matter what denomination is dangerous and wingnutty and must be condemned by all.
And, make no mistake, She-blogging supposiTories like Hunter, Frmgrl and Rightchik Tammee would run and fetch dreamy Stevie’s slippers if given the chance.
