Eric Duhaime, Contrary To What You Think, You’re Not the Voice of Quebec, In Fact, You Know Shit!

Anyone catch Eric Duhaime’s last excuse of an article yesterday?  Oh Eric, it’s so hard trying to force an agenda most don’t want, isn’t it? And it must really suck for you and your friends, the tea-baggers that is the Quebec Freedom Network – Reseau Liberte de Quebec to learn that reality ain’t your friend.

Poor Eric; he is lamenting that his buddy Stevie Spiteful cannot make  inroads here in Quebec, and now his latest skapegoat, is Jean Charest for his excercise in bribery by awarding the contract of building 500 much needed new metro cars at the Bombardier plant in La Pocatiere.  Oh come now, Eric, your master Stevie is a king at bribery and pork barreling. How else did Bernard Genereux win the 2009 federal by election in the area?  Yet, I’ve never heard you once bitch about Stevie’s pork barreling tactics. Why is that? The difference here is that it looks like Charest will actually deliver on this bribe more than Stevie did on his; you all remember; the main reason  Genereux was elected; actually, 242 million reasons, doncha?

Speaking of the devil, Duhaime also appears to be on the war path for Harpercon MP for Montmagny-l’Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere-du-Loup, Bernard Genereux for…wait for it…having the nerve to endorse the Liberal candidate, France Dionne in last week’s provincial by election in Kamouraska-Temiscouata instead of his precious ADQ which was a distant third place behind the second place France Dionne. For the life of Cher Eric, he can’t figure out why Genereux would do such a treacherous thing.

Now, I would love Genereux to be gone the next election, simply because I’d like to rid my Belle province of Harpercons as much as that’s humanly possible, but since we’re stuck with him, I will have to give ol’ Bernie credit where it’s due.  To answer your question, Eric, Genereux is stepping out of party lines to think of his constituents. As the former mayor of La Pocatiere, he understands how important these upcoming jobs are at Bombardier.  The ADQ didn’t bring those jobs, nor were they able to promise anything to Genereux’s people. How refreshing! The folks in and around La Pocatiere coming before Master Steve.

You see, Eric, in your right winged world, folks are supposed to work for a living, but it helps if there are actual jobs; companies that are hiring. Oh, and I didn’t seem to hear you squawking when your pal Steve decided to purchase those F35s without taking tenders, hmm?

That Genereux lacks judgment and conviction is one thing. That his party didn’t protect him from himself and think of its long-term well-being is more questionable.

Wake up and smell it Eric, didn’t catch the last Nanos poll? It suggested that  your buddy Steve may not even need la Belle province to get his precious majority. Why the hell would Steve concentrate on what’s happening in Kamouraska-Temiscouata when he had a loose cannon of a ‘star’ candidate like Robocop Fantino to babysit in Vaughan?

Speaking of federalism:

The old constitutional fight between the Yes and the No camp is being phased out in Quebec, and being replaced by a debate between the right and the left

Oh Eric, when will you learn? Just because you and your ilk, like the rancid Dr Jabba the Roy attempt to push this agenda, doesn’t make it so.   You’re little appearance with that insufferable ass, Beryl Wajsman on CJAD following your little hillbilly fest in Quebec City proved this much; more than half the callers only wanted to know about your stand on Anglo rights, your views on Bill 101 and federalism v sovereignty.   Furthermore, one of the reasons your precious ADQ failed miserably is that no one really knew where the party stood on sovereignty v federalism.  The fact that a somewhat right of center soft nationalist 100% Francophone electorate voted in the Parti-Quebecois (who, as Jean Charest says, hasn’t offered any platform, policies or ideas in the past 6 years), after 25 years of Temiscouata-Kamouraska being in Liberal hands, despite the metro car contract going to Bombardier, proves this much.

No, you just want to shove federalism down the throats of Quebecers and you’re just pissed that your precious Stevie just ain’t that interested in this cause anymore.

Hell, I remember your pathetic column from November 24, trying to convince Quebecers to plead to your buddy Steve to intervene in Quebec’s corruption problems. I choke on my coffee from hysterical laughter everytime I think of it.

If Jean Charest refuses to put an end to this nonsense, many Quebecers will want to ask the federal government to intervene. As much as Quebec nationalists hate federal intervention in provincial matters, there might be a formal request coming soon from a growing number of revolted taxpayers.

As shameful as it may sound, Quebecers will soon beg English Canadians to help them to clean up Quebec’s dirt

Oh please! Like that will ever happen. French nationalists would rather eat dirt than beg the feds to intervene. Secondly, what exactly is it do you want the feds to do? Stevie gonna come in and bully Charest to open a public enquiry? Charest has told Stevie where to go in the past, he’ll do it again.  If there’s one common foe Charest had with Danny Williams, it was Stevie Spiteful.

Besides, since Christian Paradis appears to up up to his neck in Quebec construction shit hisself  as of late, I don’t think it’s in the Feds’ interests to force a public enquiry into this mess neither.

Anyhow, Eric Duhaime continues to feverishly bring out his so-called right and left debate:

Oh, and you don’t really want a debate between right and left. No, like a good Harpercon soldier, you want to squash out the left in Quebec entirely and turn it into your fascist tea-party Rethuglican utopia. How very Maurice Duplessis-esque of you!  Speaking of Duplessis, you wanna know Quebec corruption at its’ worst? Remember ol’ Maurice: Patronage, the Duplessis orphans and collusion with the Catholic Church come to mind off hand.

No, Eric, once again, your mentors have taught you well.  You and your friends from the Reseau Liberte Quebec bitch about the so-called “left” media in La Belle province, but  you’re forcing Quebec in a direction that perhaps it doesn’t want to go in.  Your last bit of hysterics proves this:

Fortunately, Bernard Genereux is likely to lose his seat in the next general election — one of the only 10 seats Conservatives hold in Quebec — because a huge chunk of the 23% of truly “small-c” conservatives will stay home, spoil their ballots or vote for another candidate since they simply cannot hold their nose and vote for an un-conservative Conservative.

One question, why do you say, “fortunately”? You know damned well that if Genereux loses, it will be the Bloc Quebecois’s Nancy Gagnon who will win.  And if she does, this further unravels your goals and those of your friends, doesn’t it?

Another thing,  you just proved that only 23% of the riding are really small-c conservatives. Hardly a ringing endorsement for a hard right swing in Quebec.

Quebecers as a whole may be flirting with right wing economics, ideologies and such, but that’s all it appears to be.   If  this shift were really serious, the far right ADQ should be way further up in the polls in most of the province. They should be benefitting from a scandal-plagued Charest and the weak leadership and policy-less Parti-Quebecois.  The fact that a mythical center-right Party led by Francois Legault is in first place in polls can be easily explained as anyone is liked if they’re not there; much like that whole Jack Layton being most liked for PM in Canada phenomenon. Nothing more.  I wonder how well Force Quebec will really do in an election about 2 years from now?

Quebecers may well be as anti-immigrant, Islamophobic and bigotted as the rest of Canada is today, but  unlike the rest of the country, Quebecers actually have concerns about the poor and don’t want to see them suffering too much.  For the most part, we actually like labour standards and rent control and our health care to be for all.

Face it, Eric, you & your friends are all by your lonesome this time around.  Throwing yourselves in front of La Presse, NattyPO or your very Sun Media isn’t gonna make your Quebec tea-baggin’  Reseau Liberte Quebec more relevent.  Instead of attempting to turn us into something we’re not, why don’t you leave Quebec where you’ll find plenty of kindred spirits?

    Eric is an assmonkey.
I really wonder why anyone gives him any creed…
The sooner the cancer that rightwingers are , the better we will all be.
I’m all for less government but his brand of “right” is just corporate welfare and hatred…
