Laila Yuile posted a breaking story yesterday, exposing hidden “shadow taxes” on the infamous “Sea-to-sky highway”. Must read. Today she reports that her site metre was smokin’! Both stories here.
Tonight, our Premier has spent our tax dollars on a 1/2 hour spot on his personal PR Firm GlobalTV, corus radio and local CBC radio. According to his cheerleaders in the MSM, he plans to look very contrite at the beginning, switch on the old father knows best attitude to talk earnestly about how the HST was not on his radar and is the only possible thing that will save our poor corporate sector, followed by some bullHST about now the NDP caused it all, ten years ago. The rearranged deckchairs will be touted as a change for the better. He will end with a rousing chorus of Best Place on Earth and Forward Momentum.
My only question, really, is Will he resort to the Red Mittens?
Kim, I commend you and Laila Yuile and the other BC bloggers out there for staying on top of all that’s happening over there. Makes us Corrupt Quebecers look like Romper Room.
I wonder why McLean’s isn’t covering all that? Oh, they’re too busy with us fascinating Frenchies!
MacLean’s couldn’t help it. You sexy Frenchies!
We really do have some outstanding citizen journalists out here. Sadly, it’s for lack of professional journalism. The up side is the feeling of empowerment you get when critical mass is reached. As goes BC, so goes Canada. We can do it. We the people.
Sadly, the mittens were missing. Gordon Campbell is also missing.
