I Wonder if The Grope & Fail Editorial’s Glowing Endorsement of Stevie Spiteful Will Get Them Back in Sun Media’s Good Graces?

Remember not that long ago how Sun Media’s editorialists were whining, almost taunting the Grope and Fail about them no longer being Conservative?  Well, this endorsement (more like ass-kissing)  from the Grope & Fail’s editorialists, for Stevie oh so dreamy should put poor Sun Media’s editorialist’s minds right at ease!

They endorse dictatorship in this manner, it’s called ‘discipline’ that we apparently sorely needed.

Only Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party have shown the leadership, the bullheadedness (let’s call it what it is) and the discipline this country needs.

Oh yeah!

Canadians take Mr. Harper’s successful stewardship of the economy for granted, which is high praise.

Bull-shit!!  Either the editorialists are incredibly stupid, willfully ignorant or disingenuous or all of the above.  Once again, Stevie spent through the surplus the Paul Martin Liberals left us. All 13 billion of it and then some! Furthermore it was our  banking regulations that kept us safe, I seem to recall Stevie Spiteful voting against all those banking regulations back in the day and make no mistake, he’ll deregulate as soon as he gets his covete majority and we’ll be far worse off than the US.

Furthermore, that stimulus package, such as it was, was thanks to the evul coalition of separatists and soshalists, otherwise, there would’ve been no stimulus package whatsoever!

Do I need to go on about  big-assed fighter planes whose costs keep going up without engines?

And of course, the kicker which the editorialists at the Grope and Fail have never made a secret of hating–Universal health care– to the point where I wonder if the American health insurance lobbyists drop by the Grope and Fail’s offices.  Yes, their precious STevie will save the day and Americanize health care and try to use the impoverished seniors as a cash cows.  Not quite sure how to draw blood from stones…

It also blows the mind how you would fear the idea of rising taxes to keep up our programs like CPP and health care. Taxes will go up under Stevie too, with zero social safety nets. Somebody’s got to pay for those corporate tax cuts, increasing costs of fighter planes, engines for them, mega-prisons,  etc.  But those are good things to tax the working class on, eh?

That editorial should surely get you invited to Sun Media’s reindeer games now.

Like in 2008,  count on almost every paper to tell voters to vote for an overwhelming Harpercon majority.  And you know what? They will.

The G & M editorial may be horrific, but the comments are wonderful. They rip the editorial board a new one. All is not lost.

The Suburban too, has endorsed Stevie Spiteful. http://www.thesuburbannews.ca/content/en/10060

But we know who the editors are over there, don’t we, Alison? the insufferably Beryl Wajsman and Mike Cohen. The former, apparently, a multi-decade chainsmoker, already seeming to affect him. I’ve never wished bad things on anyone, but in Beryl’s case, I’ll gladly make an exception. I really hope he has a long suffering, painful breathing impairment of some kind due to his smoking, especially after Stevie Harper Americanizes health care, see if he can access health care then…

  • I’ve been fairly disappointed across the board with the news media during this election cycle. They’ve seemed by turns lazy, complicit, timid and far too accepting of what they’re told.

With SunTV blaring out propaganda (I flipped past it by accident visiting my parents and heard someone talking… next thing I knew I was foaming at the mouth and raving incoherently) and even my beloved CBC not closing in for the kill when there are people telling lies right to their faces I really worry we’re going the way of the U.S.A.

Ah well, May 2nd’s coming, there was record turnout at the advance polls and while there’s life there’s hope.

*grin* And don’t get me started on the F-35. I could rant for days. White Elephant doesn’t begin to describe my feelings on the plane, Lockheed Martin, the decision to purchase it and the DoD’s procurement processes.

  • Remember that the Globe’s target market is the business community. I can’t see the Globe endorsing the NDP. The business community would not accept that.

How about the Liberals then? After all, it is the banking regulations that Paul Martin had put into place that made us survive the economy better than many, certainly not the financial wizardry of Deficit Jimbo Flaherty and all their pork barreling.

The Liberals could be an option. However, since the Liberals are declining in the polls, the Globe needs a party that will bring “stability.” The Conservatives are the only party that have a realistic chance at achieving a majority. The Globe and business like stability. Never mind if it includes Harper’s autocracy.

It seems that these days stability=dictatorship. What’s next? They’ll can Lawrence Martin for writing Harperland? Why do folks who are supposed to know better purposely keep misinforming the masses? They give the credit to Stevie for the economy, when it was Paul Martin’s regulations that safeguarded us. In fact, I seem to recall Stevie while in opposition voting against those measures? Conveniently, the masses are made to forget this. And yes, STevie will deregulate all, just like G Dubya did and we will be worse off than the US. Free market, my ass!

As for that stimulus package such as it was, that took the ‘evul coalition’ to make him do it. He wasn’t going to squat otherwise.
