Well, boys ‘n’ girls, I honestly thought this whole asbestos cheerleading thing would’ve died a well deserved death by now. I mean, the last remaining asbestos mine, Lac D’Amiante in Thetford Mines closed down. Premier Johnny-Boy looked to be delaying offering that 58M$ loan guarantee to the now-closed Jeffrey Mine in Asbestos indefinitely, . . . → Read More: Premier Johnny-Boy, What The Hell Did You Do Now? 58M For Asbestos, but Not For Students Or Social Programs?

I was surprised when I read this piece from Jennifer Ditchburn and Andy Blatchford last night. It appears that some Harpercon backbench MPs are getting a tad uppity and starting to look for their own information regarding the dangers of asbestos on their own. Five abstained from voting on an NDP motion to . . . → Read More: Some Misgivings on the Part of Some Harpercon Backbenchers on the Asbestos Issue?

Well, it’s now official. The NDP’s motion brought to the House of Commons to ban the sale of asbestos was struck down today.
By a vote of 152-123 this evening the House defeated the NDP’s motion on asbestos. The New Democrats, Liberals and Elizabeth May voted in favour, the Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois . . . → Read More: Quelle Surprise, The House of Commons Voted To Support The Continued Sale of Asbestos

It appears that hundreds of health professionals are now putting Harpercon MP for Simcoe-Grey, Kellie Leitch on the hot seat in an open letter, basically reminding her of that pesky little hippocratic oath she took when she decided to practise medicine in her previous life, and denounce her own government’s stance on asbestos.

Ok, for lack of anything original, I’m going to do a variation of what DeBeauxOs did earlier over at Dammit Janet. Boys ‘n’ girls, how do you spell ReformaTory? C-A-N-C-E-R. I do mean cancer in oh so many ways as anything they touch is poison. But today, of course, we’re talking about their . . . → Read More: In Solidarity With Michaela Keyserlingk And Jean Charest Also Has Dirty Hands

Yep, no holds barred with this gang of miscreants. That asbestos lobby is just so damned important to them that they won’t let a widow of a man who died of asbestos related mesothelioma get in the way of their agenda. They’re going after her for the use of their contempt party logo.

Quelle surprise! Looks like Canada will be, once again, refusing to vote to add Chrysotile asbestos to the list of hazardous materials to Annex III of the Rotterdam Convention. Once again, here’s the brief explanation of this list:
Putting chrysotile asbestos on the Annex III list of the Rotterdam Convention would let countries where . . . → Read More: I Guess It’s Time To Reinstall The Asbestos In Stevie Harper’s Home Since It’s So Safe And Requires No Warning Labels

As I’ve mentioned last Thursday, today is the day the UN votes whether or not to include chrysotile asbestos on a list of hazardous products on the Rotterdam Convention. Stevie Spiteful, as you all know by now, boys ‘n’ girls, still refuses to add asbestos to the list of hazardous materials at the Rotterdam Convention. To be specific, as Pogge pointed out earlier, according to the article from Mia Rabson,
