Fallout from the Komen disaster. New-found power for pro-choice voices.

Sitting back after the dust has settled on Susan G. Komen’s awkward about-face (which is actually no about-face at all but a bit of temporary cover), one thing has become clear. Komen has given a renewed voice back to the pro-choice movement, too long drowned out by the money and loud talking . . . → Read More: Fallout from the Komen disaster. “Moral convictions”, Republicans and bullying

You gotta love Republicans. In Michigan, the Republican-heavy Senate has passed a new anti-bullying bill that promotes bullying by giving perpetrators the ‘moral conviction’ right to bully on behalf of their religion. In effect, bullying is AOK in Michigan if you do it and claim religious reasons.

Michigan Dems say the . . . → Read More: “Moral convictions”, Republicans and bullying

Boys ‘n’ girls, I’d like to introduce a young political science and history student from the US who would like to contribute posts about American politics from time to time over here at Sister Sage’s Musings.  His name is Scott.

Now, I Think I Understand Why Obama Ran as A Democrat

Yep, Orwell’s Bastard has it right. I will go further in guessing that President Obama is not just a wimpocrat, he’s actually a Rethuglican  who only became a wimpocrat, probably because he wanted to become America’s first black president. Simple as that. He would never have been able to do that as a . . . → Read More: Now, I Think I Understand Why Obama Ran as A Democrat

John McCain Throws The Tea-Baggers Under The Bus

Seems Sen John McCain had it and he ain’t a takin’ it anymore. He’s mad at fellow Rethuglicans and tea-bagger hit parade. Don’t worry, folks, he ain’t crossin’ the floor to the Democrats–he had no kind words for them neither.

In a Senate floor speech laced with sarcasm and stings, the Arizona Republican . . . → Read More: John McCain Throws The Tea-Baggers Under The Bus

Perhaps The Most Outrageous Statement Made From a Rethuglican Tea-bagger To Date

Rookie Rethuglican, Allen West (R-Florida) has perhaps just made Michele Bachman look like a Rhodes Scholar in his latest diatribe.  He says, get ready for it, boys ‘n’ girls, supporters of President Barak Obama are “a threat to the gene pool”.

I believe we are headed towards the ultimate ideological clash in America. . . . → Read More: Perhaps The Most Outrageous Statement Made From a Rethuglican Tea-bagger To Date

Rethuglicans Despise Regulations Except To Regulate What They Don’t Like & Andrea Mrozek Says That Roe V Wade is Anti-Democratic

There are only three clinics that provide abortions left in the state of Kansas. That is three too many for the Rethuglican Kansas governor.  like many other state governors, this winner is finding new fangled, creative ways of circumventing Roe v Wade. They’re doing it by taking a new liking to red tape . . . → Read More: Rethuglicans Despise Regulations Except To Regulate What They Don’t Like & Andrea Mrozek Says That Roe V Wade is Anti-Democratic

Breaking! Ann Coulter Actually Suggests Something Semi-Intelligent!

Yes, I will probably need brain bleach for having suggested the idea, but honestly, I think the she/he devil in a cocktail dress may be on to something here!

“I would prefer for Republicans to hide who they are running for President and only announce it like a month before the election, so . . . → Read More: Breaking! Ann Coulter Actually Suggests Something Semi-Intelligent!

Why Is Tim Pawlenty Running For Pres?

You’d be forgiven if you gave a dumbfounded look and said “I dunno!” It appears that Timmy, hisself, dunno, neither.  Check it out.

I have a feeling that the Rethuglican primaries are going to be a lot of fun to observe! Stay tuned while we watch Timmy figure out why he wants . . . → Read More: Why Is Tim Pawlenty Running For Pres?

US Budget Cuts Could Put Public Health At Risk

This is actually not a CK original.  One of our American readers emailed me wishing to contribute here from time to time.  Nick Scott had emailed me an article about how far the Rethuglican budget cuts could go. In this case, go so far as to endanger public health. I will just let . . . → Read More: US Budget Cuts Could Put Public Health At Risk

I Wonder What Suzy ALLCAPS and Sara Landriault Would Think of This?

I guess we shoulda known this was a comin’; the fight to repeal child labour laws in the US, after all, what would complete the Rethuglican Tea-baggin’ return to the 19th century circle better than a repeal of child labour laws?

Missouri State Sen. Jane Cunningham (R) is pushing a bill which would . . . → Read More: I Wonder What Suzy ALLCAPS and Sara Landriault Would Think of This?

Some Progressive Dems Challenge Anti-Health Care GOPers To Put Their Money Where Their Mouth Is

Yesterday, Jymn posted about new Rethuglican congressman, Andy Harris, who is typically against the Obama health care reform, bitching about how he would have to wait thirty days after being sworn in in January  for his tax-payer funded congressman health coverage.  Today, it seems that some progressive Dems have  launched a challenge to . . . → Read More: Some Progressive Dems Challenge Anti-Health Care GOPers To Put Their Money Where Their Mouth Is

“Republican cannibalism” indeed

It was a tough night for Democrats, the Blue Dogs and for Sarah Palin. Democrats lost the House. 28 Blue Dogs bit the dust. Palin’s O’Donnell and Angle lost. It’s looking like Palin’s arch enemy Murkowski may defeat tea party darling  Joe “Handcuffs” Miller. Expect a lengthy court room drama with that baby.

We Juxtapose With David Frum

Ah, the irony of  tea-bagging cons! Whining about freedoms being stripped, so they rush to vote in an even more authoritarian party. They want less taxes, so they vote in a party, surely to raise taxes further in order to accomplish their own twisted greed motivated goals.

David Frum writes such an article . . . → Read More: We Juxtapose With David Frum

Meet the Tea-Party Candidates! Ain’t They a Fun Bunch? Fun Enough To Destroy The US

Seems that many plan to stay home come election day, November 2. Keith Olbermann goes over the Tea-party candidates in all their wingnuttiness with all their destructive goals, who’s chances of winning increase, with potentially too many of the disillusioned who plan to stay home and not vote.

More About the (Ahem!) “Compassionate” Rethuglicans, Tea-baggers, & other Cons

I just caught the link to the frightening video below. Many of the still images are so reminiscent of images we see in old newspapers and history books of the sights of The Great Depression. In fact, only the fact that they’re in colour and that the scenery looks somewhat modern separates the . . . → Read More: More About the (Ahem!) “Compassionate” Rethuglicans, Tea-baggers, & other Cons

When did lying become so politically correct?

Lies have been with us since Adam and Eve. They are the source of our dramas, comedies and wars. None of us is without blame for telling whoppers that have hurt others and changed the course of our lives. Until recently, however, lies have been considered taboo – we lie, then we repent. . . . → Read More: When did lying become so politically correct?
