Helena Guergis, Didn’t Your Mother Ever Tell You It’s Rude to go Where You’re Not Wanted? I Got a Challenge For You!–Update

Indeed. You and your people claim the good folks of Simcoe-Grey want you to continue representing their interests in Ottawa.  Andy Beaudoin, the riding association’s riding secretary appears to be confidant of that. Ok, then, how  does CTV (Remember, the C stands for Conservative) get all kinds of video footage showing folks wanting to run you and your hubby out of town? I had read articles from your riding saying that folks were tired of you and your hubby’s antics.

Plus, your not wanted in Harpercon caucus; clearly.

Didn’t your mother teach you not to go where you’re not wanted? The question is, who doesn’t want you? The good folks of Simcoe-Gray? Conservative Caucus? Or both?

It’s clear to this day, Master Stevie and his Harpercons no longer want you around. My next question is, with the horrible way he treats even his female MPs in Caucus; why would you even want to subject yourself to that?

Maybe it’s just Master Stevie contolling his agenda yet again. Ooops! What do you know? Free speech from Harpercon detractors appears to be obstructed yet again. Oh dear.  Folks, you sure you don’t believe Master Stevie is not attempting to be a totalitarian; perhaps even a facist dictator? But I digress.

But riding officials also accused the Conservative Party of using heavy-handed tactics to replace Guergis with well-known Conservative activist Kellie Leitch, an orthopedic surgeon at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and director of the Health Sector MBA program at the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business.

In a lengthy letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Conservative electoral district association in Simcoe-Grey complained of repeated interference, obstruction and gag orders by Conservative headquarters.

“We don’t want to lose this seat in the next election. But head office personnel have deliberately interfered with, obstructed and circumvented our autonomy as an association, and our right to freely express our opinions,” the executive members wrote.

Some seem to argue that you were a fighter for women’s organizations. I personally don’t believe it, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt for the sake of the challenge I am about to launch.

Question is, are you up for it? Perhaps it’s time to put your political career to the ultimate test.

You have your own contacts in the riding of Simcoe-Grey who seem to be ready to support you.  Raising money is difficult, but again, if the riding still thinks you’re best suited to represent their interests in parliament, then it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.  If Folks working for   Conservative electoral district association in Simcoe-Grey, perhaps they can send some folks your way.   Run as an independent. Yes indeed that would be the ultimate test of the Harpercons, their new doctor star, Kellie Leitch and of course, yourself.

Simcoe-Grey isn’t Calgary West. It’s not what one could consider a ‘safe’ Harpercon riding. Liberals had it before you did.

What’s the worst that can happen? You lose? Well, if you didn’t run as an independent, you’re out of parliament anyway. In the words of Janis Joplin, my idol, “freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose”.  If you were to win, well,  I see it this way, with Steve’s numbers on the rise yet again,  one less seat for Harpercons is always a good thing. Plus, you can vote  against all of his confidence motions.  Yes, they say success is the bet revenge.  Well, for those who take the high road anyway. If you’re like me, revenge is a bitch best served cold.  If you  were to beat out the good doctor, Perhaps you should warn the good doctor exactly how Master Steve deals with his female MPs and support staff, particularly if they don’t behave like  good little girls.

A prominent doctor who looks after kids. Hmmm! Pediatric orthopedics (or any specialty) joining Harpercons as ‘star’ candidate = (no, not health minister; remember health not important enough for Steve to waste a star candidate on; it’s ditzs like Agluquack with not post-secondary education) Furthering the agenda to further Americanize Canadian health care. Oh Lawdy!

As for you Helena, my dear, the smartest thing you can do toward any end for your career is to dump Rahim. He just ain’t worth the trouble.

Update: Apparently the latest over at BCL is that it looks more and more like Helena Guergis will indeed run as an independent. More about that here. Notice that she still really wants to come back to the Harpercons. I’m not getting that. Why would anyone want to rejoin a party whose leader threw under the bus so publicly?

Anyhow, as I commented over at BCL,  I think the Liberals have a shot of taking Simcoe-Grey whether or not Guergis runs as an independent, depending what you hear and read.  Remember, as mentioned above, the riding association may claim Guergis’ constituents really want her back, but I remember CTV Question Period ‘randomly’ questioning folks on the streets of Simcoe-Grey, all claiming they were fed up of her scandals and the antics of Rahim Jaffer.

There is, of course, another factor at play here. It all depends on who Steve the master tactician plans to nominate for Simcoe-Grey. Rumour has it that he wants to run prominent Harpercon activist,  Dr Kellie Leitch as their ‘star’ candidate.  From all that I’ve read about her, she’s a very well respected doctor and academic. She could well take the riding back for the Harpercons with more than Guergis’ 2008 vote.

Thus far, Leitch has denied the rumour, although, as time goes on, she doesn’t seem to deny that it’s a possibility neither. We all know that sometimes rumours of this kind do have a way of coming out true.

I live in her riding and I’m embarrassed by the woman. She is a poorly performing minister with a huge sense of self entitlement. The latest news is how she and Rahim laugh their heads off at all the funny things written in the media about them. I don’t think it’s funny to live in a riding that is the laughingstock of Ontario. Yesterday she decided to announce that for the past two months she hasn’t done any work (chosing to holiday in the Dominican, have her teeth fixed, and get her hair done for her appearance on the National- those highlights would have taken the better part of an entire day- whew, she works so hard for us!) because her doctor has ordered her to take it easy. Why this announcement all of a sudden? Because it’s clear the woman doesn’t do anything except in her own self interest. With the public eye upon her, her continued underperformance is showing. Imagine what she does when people aren’t watching! Let’s see, there’s giving the same badly written speech over and over again, or screwing up. It is also clear that she is just making this up as she goes along, which is not the first time that that’s happened.

To review a few items….at first, her husband never used her office, then he did, but only to store stuff. Then he never used her parliamentary emal address but then he did, but so what, it’s not like he got any benefit from it.

She assured herself that she could write a letter on behalf of Wright Tech industries because neither her or her family would profit in any way, but then she said on The National that she has no idea of her husband’s business dealings. But she knows with certainty that he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her. But when people in your family hurt you you don’t abandon them.

Bring on an election….this woman needs a serious wake up call. I don’t see the Conservatives lying down and letting her have this riding without a serious challenge. Sure, the riding association here has many of her supporters (read: family and friends and people who are thick as two bricks) but I think she’s finished in politics.

By the by, do you hear of any rumours of Steve putting in a ‘star’ in Simcoe-Grey? Such as Dr Kellie Leitch?

I haven’t heard any rumours, but it would make things very interesting if Dr Kellie Leitch ran here. I don’t think the Conservatives want to lose this riding. I think Dr Leitch would have an excellent chance. But, there are a couple of other local conservative party members who could do very well, including the current Alliston mayor, Mike MacEacheron.

With the budget vote ahead of the House, there is a real chance of an election sooner rather than later. Helena has nothing to fall back on, she is a former gift shop owner, (and look how well her husband has transitioned from politics to the real world). So of course she doesn’t want to get out of politics.
