This just occurred to me to ask after reading Fantino’s little quote from Impolitical’s post just now. I’m referring to his little ranting about the “risky Michael Ignatieff coalition…” Frankly, I thought that coalition talk was going to stop after the Liberals and the Harpercons came to an agreement over the new Afghan . . . → Read More: Just a Question?

Well, I noticed that a good many in Vaughan seem to prefer glitter over substance in voting in Robocop Fantino, but only by the slimmest of margins. Will this mean an early winter election? Could be, if Steve wants to ensure that Fantino run again…as mentioned before, I don’t see Fantino enjoying the . . . → Read More: “Stars” Shine in Federal By-Elections; Not So Much In Kamouraska-Temiscouata

Wow, so I was way off my predictions (see original predictions here). Turns out the NDP were outgunned in Winnipeg and the Cons squeeked by in Vaughan (the Cons won in DSRM, but I think we all expected that). So all the Liberals and Conservatives cheer and celebrate and the NDP walk away . . . → Read More: UPDATE: Predictions for Monday’s By-elections

This motley crew never fails to enrage the right and burn the hearts of many of a progressive. I tend to love and respect anyone who upsets the apple cart, who pisses off both right and left, and who brings a ton of attention to matters that need attending to.

A short update: the elections in Haiti have nearly bumped cholera off the radar.

While Canadians are keeping an eye of the three federal by-election races happening today, particularly the hotly contested riding of Vaughan, there is a Quebec provincial by-election happening today as well–Kamouraska-Temiscouata. Like Vaughan, this by-election is also the test of leadership. The fate of premier Jean Charest and Parti-Quebecois leader, Pauline Marois will largely . . . → Read More: Kamouraska-Temiscouata–The Quebec Version of Vaughan & Why Canadians Should Pay Attention To This By-Election Race–(UPDATE)

A well-deserved shot at corporate pink ribbon campaigns.

All I had been noticing from the pundits, columnists and bloggers was if Fantino would win Vaughan by-election tomorrow, it would be a disaster for the Liberals.
