So, just what did Ken Boessenkool do that was so bad he had to resign?

UPDATE: Keith Baldrey ‏advises in the comments:

“Premier’s chief of staff resigned after Global News sent questions to premier’s office last week about an incident at a Victoria bar.”

UPDATE II: Rumour – and I emphasis the word ‘rumour’ – has it that the incident involved a woman. We may never know the truth. Keep you posted.

UPDATE III: Seems a waitress is involved. Now I`m really feeling weird about this. If it was sex, that`s personal. If it involved something more insidious, the story needs to be told.

The entire Ken Boessenkool hiring has been a joke from the beginning.  ‘Goofy’ doesn’t begin to describe it. Now that he’s resigned for what he calls, an ‘incident of concern’ and an ‘inappropriate act’, tongues are wagging.

Inquiring bloggers want to know. What the fuck did this bozo do to out himself from the party? He better own up because the option of not speaking out is much worse. Speculation can get pretty nasty for everything from sexual hijinks to outright corruption.

Lesson to Christy Clark: you can’t bring a Conservative to a Liberal fight. Especially in BC. Did you not learn from this moment of FUBAR?

Here’s his letter of resignation.

Premier:

Earlier this month I was involved in an incident where I acted inappropriately.  I was wrong, regretted my behaviour very much and immediately and unconditionally apologized.

Notwithstanding my genuine apology and sense of regret, and following my meeting with you earlier today I tender my letter of resignation as your Chief of Staff effective immediately.

This will give me a chance to return to Calgary to be with my family — who I have also let down — and from whom I have been separated on a weekly basis for most of the last eight months.

I have been very proud to be at your side and proud of what I helped the team accomplish.

Nothing should stand in the way of your successful leadership and the accomplishments of your government in creating jobs and making family life affordable
I wish you the very best.

Sincerely,
Ken Boessenkool

  • Just a speculator

Considering that his resignation letter mentions letting down his family, I’m going to guess:

    1. Offerred a waitress money for sex, mistaking her profession for a much different profession.

    2. Refused to take no/having drink thrown in face for an answer, escalated the proposition.

    3. Used the “Do you know who I am?” line.

    4. Someone knew who he was and recorded his antics.

This is just speculation, but it’s not like we’ll ever know the actual answer, so let’s have some fun!
