Yes, that abortion debate is alive and well. I betcha Brother Steve and Co must be itching at all those proposed state bills designed to circumvent Roe v Wade. They say, no! no! no! But we know they mean Yah! Yeah!
What we’re seeing now is a classic example of wedge political games Brother Steve plays. Basically, Brother Steve and his SoCon flunkies, like Bev Oda, are emphatically refusing funding for safe abortions in their maternal health initiative, while the other G8 members have made it clear that abortion must be included in any such initiative. Yes, Brother Steve, keep us looking very classy on that world stage, why don’t you?
More importantly, the abortion issue is back to haunt us again. It came back in the form of MP Rod Bruinooge’s ridiculous bill, making it a crime to coerce a woman into having an abortion, but let’s be clear, it doesn’t work in reverse; those fetus fetishist protesters outside these abortion clinics will be able to continue their arm twisting tactics in a feverish effort to keep women from going inside. I have a feeling this is just the start of things to come.
Not to mention, I don’t think we’ve heard the last of this bloated clown below:
or others for that matter.
Just a thought, since Iggy and the Liberals are starting to perform better albeit slowly (polls don’t reflect this as of yet, but still..), and now that the NDP and the Liberals are significantly divided, I wonder if Brother Steve’s next move would be to target the pro-life liberals like Dan McTeague and Paul Szabo and get them all nice and uppity, thus creating further divisions in the Liberals? I wonder if that is the goal for them bringing the abortion debate back to the forefront?
Again, that reminder as to what desperate women had to resort to before Roe v Wade. I wonder if the Harpercons are actually that naive as to believe no rudimentary abortions of any kind are happening in the third world?
As mentioned, let the wedgie games begin. Do listen to that blowhard Dean Delmastro talk at a pro-life march in Ottawa in the above video; he is (presumably) speaking on behalf of the Harpercons and Brother Steve. It is what will come if they get that totalitarian regime they so want.
However, for the time being anyway, I think we can take solace at Brother Steve’s new all-time low polling numbers. We also know they can go up again at anytime as he does have a propensity for bouncing back quite easily. We should never be lulled into a false sense of security.
Around the 10 second mark, Del Mastro says, “that so many of you
had came out today” . . ..
He’s a speaker for the Conservatives and he can’t get his verb tenses right?
He’s a speaker as much as I’m a miracle healer.
That party’s gotta go–and soon!
