Thank Master Steve For Setting Us Straight With Sideshow Stuff & We Juxtapose With a Harpercon Woman

You got it here first, boys n’ girls:  Media and Opposition parties are simply putting on a side show if they talk about anything important to Canadians other than the economy. Once in awhile, Jane Taber does come up with something substantive.  Steve only seems to like the economy; something for which he refuses to give credit to  Paul Martin for maintaining regulations in our financial system. Really Rich.

It’s the economy that counts, and all the media hoopla about other stuff is a sideshow. That was Stephen Harper’s message to “youth delegates” coming to quiz him about this summer’s G8 and G20 summits.

Yeah, “stuff”  like abortion, universal health care, old age pension plan (as well as other pension plans), jobs, housing, women’s issues and rights, justice for all,  gun control,  funding cuts to groups working in social justice and AIDS vaccine programs in favour of  Religious wingnutty groups like bible translators and a youth conversion center, detainee documents,  climate change, government accountibility are nothing more than just side shows. How silly of us to endulge in such madness.

Thanks for setting us straight Master Steve.

Speaking of abortion and health care,  Harpercon MP, Josee Verner comes out blasting Cardinal Ouellette as did pretty much every woman politician from Quebec did.  Very good Josee! Now just one question for Jane, the opposition parties, Canadians  and your’s truly: you say your pro-choice, but voted against including safe abortions in the G8 maternal health fund. Explain that rationale please?

Commenter Garlicktoast points out the obvious:

Say the Grits: “Maybe Josée Verner, an ex-CIDA minister, should tell the Prime Minister that 68,000 women dying of botched abortions each year is anything but a ‘sideshow’.”

There is one goal here,” the Tory official noted, “to save the lives of millions of children and hundreds of thousands of mothers in the developing world.

OK, so which is it?
Anyone wish to clear that one up? Anyone?
