An Episode From An Early 1970s Norman Lear Classic-Saturday Nite

This would be more for Logan’s benefit as Maude came out before he was born.  The late Bea Arthur was probably better as Maude than she was as Golden Girls‘ Dorothy Zbornak. As with any show done by Norman Lear in the early ’70s, Maude, a spin off from the classic,  All in the Family, was ahead of its’ time. It’s ashame there are no more geniouses like Lear.  Anyway, here is a particular favourite episode of Maude when she is at the shrink’s office. I think a lot of middle aged women can relate to Maude’s basic neurosis. It is perhaps one of the late Bea Arthur’s more intense performances. Certainly would’ve be a challenge to carry all thirty minutes of such intensity.

Hope it brings back fond memories! Enjoy!  As for Logan and other young readers, I hope you enjoy this as well and perhaps develop an appreciation for classic TV.
