Hello friends, I have been making my list and checking it twice.
Firstly, I wish Phil Hochstein would call off his attack on the people of British Columbia. Gary E. has the story at How Bad is the Record. FightHST is recommending a boycott of member companies of Independant Contractors and Business Association, which Hochstein runs. Mr. Hochstein is often published by the fishwrap in BC, writing letters and opeds in support of Gordon Campbell’s policies. He is anti union and pro-migrant workers and temp workers. Against Government spending and for the HST. Yeah, real caring guy. Especially if you are a neo-Liberal like Campbell. So, I would be really happy if Elections BC would get off their asses right about now and rule that Mr. Hochstein and his group have a real special interest in the outcome of the HST/Recall campaign and bar them from advertising. They also have very deep pockets, a fact that hasn’t escaped the Lieberals. Or the courts. Unlike the Recall campaign proponents.
What they are up to is buying ad campaigns with the sympathtic pro-media. Hate and fear mongering campaigns to discredit recall volunteers as untrustworthy, fringe groups, unions and the NDP. None of the allegations are true. He is doing what the Lieberals can’t, a smear campaign against the people of BC. Over the radio, in the riding of Ida Chong, on a website. Sorry I’m not linking it. Find it yourself, if you have a strong stomach.
“Signing the recall petition means giving up your privacy to people that don’t have your best interests at heart,” the advertisement at the website says.
Second, I wish Elections BC would hire Linda Johnson back and give her the promotion she deserves. A grave injustice was done by Craig James when he fired her. I’m pretty sure Ms. Johnson was paid handsomely to sign a non-disclosure agreement, or we would have heard from her by now. The Campbell Lieberals love those non-disclosure agreements, just ask Dave Basi. No, the injustice was done to the people of BC. when Craig James was arbitrarily appointed to demolish oversee the democratic process, just in time for the Fight HST campaign.
Third, I wish the Provincial NDP would get their heads out of their naval and get on with putting forward a strong leader with a strong policy to steer us out of this shitstorm Campbell has created. Here’s my pick. John Horgan. More on him in my next post.
Fourth, I wish our News providers, television and print, would do their job. Properly.
Last Christmas wish for British Columbia, I wish that no child goes hungry in our province next year. A futile wish, unless the voting public wishes collectively to rid the province of the evil Lieberals. How about it BC? You can do it, just open your eyes and vote for the public good.
As I have said before, the Liberals will say and do everything to “stay in power”, even through third party stooges.
that was tried here in Toronto when Rob Ford wanted to become Mayor, the dirt that was thrown at him was disgusting, I am seeing that with the Liberals, only at arms length.
well, at least we live in a country where free speech is still strong and our freedom is also still strong so people can and do what they feel is right.
Ida Chong will likely be recalled, but she will make sure the BC people “pay for it dearly”.
Ted
Campbell will take care of the “making us pay dearly”, through the robbery of BC Hydro and the MegaMinistry of selling BC cheap!
I am worried about the state of our freedom of speech here too. Wikileaks will become the crisis they need to move in on the internet. Also, look at the “pre-emptive” raids by police at the University of Toronto the day before the G20, arresting people for intending to protest? WTF?
Campbell is so full of, hate, spite, malice, and is so vindictive, his sanity is in question. Good, decent, law abiding normal people would never stoop to Campbell, the Liberal ministers, nor the mla’s level. The ICBA, just as bad, is spending their clients money, to keep the HST. Some businesses were not even aware what the ICBA, has done to them. The HST is killing some of these business owners, some profits are down as much as 61%. The ICBA took their clients names off of their web site. Too late though, you can find the ICBA members list, on the fight HST web site. Those businesses, will be boycotted. Campbell’s theft of our rivers, will put hydro up 55%. His election lie, the BCR wasn’t for sale, made him and his business friends a tidy sum, when Campbell sold it. As did the private sales of our rivers. The election lie, the HST wasn’t on Campbell and Hansen’s radar, turned out to be, indeed another lie, the HST radar papers, were sitting on Hansen’s desk, long before the election. Which he finally admitted, when caught in his lie. A canvasser, had a person hanging around her, he had an inspectors badge. Two people came out of a pub. When they were asked, if they would like to sign the recall petition, she was yelled and screamed at. Low and behold, Ida Chong was across the street watching??? BC is the most corrupt province in Canada. Campbell and his, BC Liberal party, are the worst, corrupt governing officials, in the entire country’s history. Campbell whined and sniveled, and asked the peoples forgiveness, for his DUI. The people let it go. Campbell then kicked those very people in the face, for doing so. I defy anyone to find another, evil, corrupt governing official, worse than Campbell.
Neufeld. Chief of Elections BC, had to make his decision by law, to refuse Hansen’s HST brochure to be mailed out. Hansen tattled to Campbell, Harry Neufeld was then told, he would not be reappointed. Linda Johnson of Elections BC, also got a vendetta from Campbell. Anyone honest and decent, never lasts long with Campbell, he can’t stand up to honest scrutiny. Hence, Campbell put another of his butt kissing boys, Craig James in Elections BC. Campbell and James, had the RCMP terrify an elderly lady, in her eighties, and other people, so they wouldn’t sign the recall. Shame on the RCMP and James, for doing Campbell’s dirty work. Mr. James, had better keep Basi and Virk in mind. Campbell didn’t hesitate to say they acted without his knowledge, they were criminals, and Campbell cut their throats. Beware, Mr. James, Campbell wouldn’t hesitate to cut your throat either. The RCMP refused to do a further investigation of, Campbell’s corrupt sale of the BCR. I bet, they will also refuse to investigate, Campbell’s sea to sky highway scam either. The RCMP must be terrified, they will lose their contract with the province. We all know, anyone opposing Campbell gets a vendetta, and loses their jobs. That’s the way he controls. It is amazing, what people will sell their souls for. BC is the dregs, at the bottom of the cesspool in Canada, because of, Campbell and the BC Liberals.
It’s great to see so many people caring about the state of our province. You people have obviously been doing your homework. I hope you are talking about it with your friends in the community and showing them how to register to vote, as well. Thanks for your comments.
Another if you will: a wish that BC never has to deal with oil pipelines or of shore containers. I want BC kept clean and free of all this oil and gas and environmentally damaging materials.
I love your wishlist Kim. I hope that, like you, the BC-NDP are able to come together cohesivly and rid us of this scurge of a party we call the Liberals (not actually liberal in any way, shape, or form). We differ in our choice for NDP leader. I like Horgan, but would prefer Dix. He’s tough and he would be able to hold the Liberals to account for sitting on their hands while Campbell was drunk at the wheel (literally). With Farnworth and Horgan behind him, which I think they would be, the NDP would be a bangup party.
I’ve sent the party president my request that that the convension be held in late spring so that new members have the alloted time (90 days) to register with the party and vote. I know people have registered with James being gone and it would be a shame if they were unable to vote because of the 90 day rule. They havn’t gotten back to me yet.
Great point Logan. Regardless of who surfaces as Leader, it’s a good time to get off the fence, join the party and make our vision a reality.
I agree, no oil and gas industry need apply. What we need is our Ministry of Forestry to step up and replant the mess they allowed the Corporate Forest Sector to leave. There’s lots of work to be done.
