After the card, which is displayed in a lobby off the House of Commons, he signed for the troops in Afghanistan, he really does show his redneck colours very well and Hard core Harpercon supporters from Calgary still can’t figure out why the rest of the country calls them redneck.
“When in doubt, pull the trigger.”
Uh oh! When the redneck constituents are put off by this, you betcha he went over the top!
“I find this very offensive and disgusting as my husband used to be in the military,” said Dorthy Wright on Monday. “I don’t think it’s a joke.”
B.K. Sernal, 18, said if Anders was joking, he should have made it clear in case soldiers took his message the wrong way.
“It’s pretty funny, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to send to … soldiers,” said Nyuon Jock, 16.
They may seem disgusted now, but they will continue voting him into Calgary West or any Harpercon in ridings in and around Calgary for that matter…it has to make one wonder if they’re really feigning being offended.
Out of any phrases of encouragement, that was the least responsible. It kind of endorses that whole shoot everyting in site kind of thing, an in the case of Aghanistan, shoot at any brown adult male that passes their way.
I simply have no words for this, except to say that it was the most irresponsible thing Anders or anyone could have said given the invasion of the Gaza Aid flotilla … To say it was stupid is an understatement. Speaking of the flotilla, I can’t help but wonder if this was Anders’ and the Harpercons’ backhanded way of endorsing what the Israelis did to those aid ships?
But then, what do you expect from a party that would love to erradicate gun control?
So, really bad timing on the part of the redneck; or subtle endorsement of the Israelis and their behavior as of late?
That would all depend how Steve’s public reaction would be to this latest from his proteger of Calgary West. I haven’t found one yet.
