Lyin’ Brian Mulroney, ADSCAM, Any Scandal and Why They Will Continue to Happen

Now, after more than 2 decades we now know that he and the deported lobbyist-tax evader jailbird Karlheinz Schreiber had an ‘inappropriate’ relationship.  Well, I think most of us have come to that conclusion.

Two years, ago, Steve throws Lyin’ Brian under the ol’ airbus and demands an inquiry from Justice Jefferey Oliphant.  Apparently, there was a condition though,  Oliphant was not to make any findings of criminal  activities nor civil liability.  All 850 pages of no findings of criminal activity nor civil liability, all at a cost of of 16 million $ Kinda makes you wonder: what exactly was the point to all of this?  Oh yeah! To check for ethics violations. Ok, there were. Now what? Not like anything is going to be done about it.  Pages of recommendations? If anyone thinks that time and expense will go into making such recognized changes.

It would require no more lobbying and no more corporate influence into government and no more corporate backing of  any political party of any stripe in order to level the playing field for all and even obtain some semblence of honesty. I know, it will never happen, but, that means any government will be stuck playing a game of not getting caught.  Until all that changes, we’re going to keep being bombarded by the corporate media on things like ADSCAM, The Jaffer/Guergis Affair,  Karlheinz Schreiber and his airbusses and the constuction company scandal happening with Jean Charest and the Quebec Liberal Party.

Just imagine if we did like Steve wants to do and allow him to  cut the 1.95$ /vote subsidy for all the federal parties? We’d have the same mess as U.S. Congress.

I know, it’s on the tax payers. Well, the only way to put an end to any of those corporate/government  unholy alliances is for Canadian taxpayers, themselves to get out of the Tim Horton’s and do something.  Otherwise, we’re part of the problem. Yes, me included.

Either way,  teflon Steve remains bullet proof, doesn’t he?

And yes, of course, I’m noticing the Harpercon trolls on the CBC pages bringing up ADSCAM and that whole Chretien was more corrupt than Mulroney.

And speaking of ADSCAM, how come  the Schreiber affair doesn’t hurt Steve but ADSCAM continues to plague the Liberals? Like Steve’s Harpercons,  the major players of ADSCAM are out, in jail, fired, dead or out of the country now. Iggy was at Harvard when the sponsorship scandal occurred, yet, Canadians seem content to keep dumping this scandal on him? Why is that?

Here are the gory details that make up the Oliphant report.

Since Oliphant rejected Mulroney’s explanation of his deceptive answers given under oath as “patently absurd” Harper should waste no time getting Mulroney up on perjury charges and arranging to recover the $2-million plus interest and costs. Oliphant was forbidden from making findings of criminal liability but “patently absurd” is as close as he could get to a finding of perjury.
