Has Merger Been in Planning Since 2008? The Existance of Liberaldemocrats.ca Seems To Imply as Much

There is an existing domain, liberaldemocrats.ca, which is owned by Netfirms Inc., a web hosting company. I found this out from a Harpercon cheerleader commenting over at Scott’s Diatribes. The commenter’s assertion that the site had a pro merger slogan of some kind on the site, however, is false today. Here is the actual site, as you can see, there is nothing but the hosting provider letting them (whoever is behind the ownership of url) know that they can build their site anytime.

According to cira.ca, where .ca domains are registered, liberaldemocrats.ca has been in existance since Dec. 1,  2008 ;  right at that time Steve made that economic statement that drove the birth of  a coalition of  Bloc, NDP and Liberals.  Funny how the name of this entity never included the Big Bad Bloc that got Canadians all twisted.  While the site remains blank except for their netfirms stuff, they have updated their registration last December 1 and it is due for renewal December 1, 2008.

What I find puzzling is that most domains are owned by the individual, company and/or organization itself and not their host providers.  For example, I own the domain sistersagesmusings.ca, not my web hosting provider.  Could it be somebody has something to hide or did the parties discard the whole thing and simply sold the domain to someone else?

I filled out a form at cira.ca, requesting more info about the domain, but I’m not holding my breath, something tells me that the info the search yielded is all the public is meant to see at least for right now. But, if by some stretch of the imagination I do obtain more info, I will update here.

  • Did you read BigCityLib today? He thinks there’s nothing to it.

Nor does Blunt Objects. Don’t jump to conclusions, particularly from a Conservative commentator.

I did my own checking as mentioned.

I will always pay attention to conservative commenters and their media; how else are we supposed to know what we’re up against? Some are rip roaringly idiotic as to be actually entertaining. Some, we should pay attention to, no matter how wingutty.

Steve is well on his way to a majority unless a miracle happens between now and the next election, and it’s good to know what’s being talked about.

I checked at cira and such.

Did you check the date when it was first registered with cira? Dec. 1, 2008. If they dumped it when Iggy came along in January, fine, but why renew the registration? Just a question.

I don’t believe in coincidences. Never did. To this day, I have no reason to.

Probably nothing to it; but there is never any harm in checking these things out.
