No matter upon which side of the fence you sit, if you're a woman in Harper's Canada, you're fucked

Sex and pot: the evil duo targeted by the Conservatives due exclusively to evangelical ideology. Caught in the Conservative path to achieving its cock blocking referendum on pleasure, women have become an inconvenient impediment to Conservative paternalism.

“Prostitution is harmful for society, as it exploits Canada’s most vulnerable people, especially women,” Nicholson told the House of Commons.

“Canadians can continue to count on this government to protect those who are vulnerable to this kind of exploitation.

In response to a challenge from three sex-trade workers, the Ontario Court of Appeal last month struck down the ban on bawdy houses on the basis that it increased the dangers prostitutes face because they are forced to work outside.

“Prostitution is harmful to society”. “Drugs ruin lives”. Same ideological theme, same pleasure-denying bullshit. Open up the abortion debate. Threaten the livelihood of independent workers. Next up, compulsory measuring of skirt lengths, monitoring of cleavage exposure and penalties for not obeying husbands. Conadian Taliban, anyone?

First it was Craigslist and its gutting of sex ads, endangering the livelihood and safety of indepdendent sex workers, and now the feds are in the action. All in the phony name of fighting exploitation.

Just not cutting it anymore: “You’re either with us or you’re with the:

1. child pornographers
2. sex traffickers
3. Hell’s Angels pot traffickers”
