Rod Bruinooge’s Bill C-510 AKA Roxanne’s Law, yanno, the one that was based on a lie? The one about coerced abortions? Well, it just died a well deserved death: 178-97.
Eat your heart out, Mr. Lilley (who, by the by, thinks folks who are pro-choice should’ve supported Bill C-510) & the other fetus fetishists who are still claiming Roxanne Fernando was killed because she refused to abort her baby. Well, boys ‘n’ girls, feast your eyes on another reason to hang on to the CBC, as they have come out with the real reason why Ms Fernando was killed which had nothing to do with abortion and more to do with her pursuing a relationship she shouldn’t have.
As for Brian Lilley, fetus fetishist extraordinaire who, as mentioned above, actually thinks those who are pro-choice should’ve supported this bill, just one question; Why? This bill wouldn’t have protected women and girls who would seek an abortion but are being coerced into not having one. I think this happens more often than vice-versa: vulnerable and often confused women being swarmed by the fetus fetish element with their placards photoshopped gory fetuses and their perverted scripture or about the man who impregnated the woman and/or his family seeking custody of the fetus. I seriously doubt that Roxanne’s Law would have protected Chantal Daigle from Jean-Guy Tremblay in 1989. But I guess Brian Lilley has no compassion or solutions for them.
Yes, we got rid of one fetus fetish bill, but the debate won’t end here, boys ‘n’ girls, sadly enough. How long will it be before the next Socon theocrat attempts to pass another assanine fetus fetish bill?

those CONs are a bunch of bastards. harper knew it wouldn’t pass, but hey, keep that rabid base thinking harper would actually pass it. Not with a minority, he won’t, but give him his Big M, and all women will be are servants and viable ovaries.
I am so glad this one died.
