Top story of 2011

First of all, best wishes to all of you in your endeavours in the new year.  We need more then ever to strive towards enlightenment in the new reality that we pretend is democracy.  In this spirit, I will resolve to educate as many people as I can reach on the dangers we face.  The ugly face of Fascism, Corporatocracy, Kleptocracy.
At the same time, humanity is awakening to the realisation that we matter.  We have the power.  Critical mass.  “We can be the change that we wish to see in the world” Gandhi
I could make a list of the top stories of 2011.  I actually tried to, but it got long and unwieldy and I have never been a linear thinker…so in the best procrastination tradition, I gave it up.
The process of trying to create that list led me to one glaringly obvious central theme to every single major news story I encountered.
The complete and utter absence of freedom of the press in Canada.  From Fukishima to #Occupy, to Attawapiskat, our press has failed to inform the public of researched factual information in favour of verbatim press releases from the PMO and Public Affairs Bureau.  From our once proud CBC, to Sun, Global, Rogers, Bell/Media (perhaps PostMedia is the most honest moniker), all of these so called journalists have failed to do the job so necessary in a democracy, inform the public with factual unbiased information.
Most people who have gotten this far into my post already know this.  I challenge you to pick one person you know and love (or even just like) and take a gentle and personal role in educating them with some facts.  Once that person is sufficiently curious as to the facts, challenge them to find a person to gently educate.  Find another person in your life who you feel is ready to face the truth.  Repeat.  We are very close to reaching a critical mass of conscienceness that could evolve the human race into an age of reason and light.
It’s either that or status quo and Harper’s Mordor…
(@ck, still working on that list…it’s on that back burner, Lol)

  • Great idea Kim.

    Thanks.

(and ‘postMedia’ is a good moniker)

The first thing fascists absolutely have to do, is control the media. Our media are now a disgrace to their professions. They are propaganda machines for the government. Then dictators start grabbing control of everything they can get their dirty hands on. Harper and Campbell forced an illegal HST on the BC people. The tax was with no representation, what-so-ever.

Harper does not permit scientists to publish their results, everything went through him first. Mind you now, Harper has slashed Environment Canada’s budget right to the bare bones. 700 scientists are gone, Harper wanted no bad reports about the dirty tar sands. Harper even had Guelph University stormed, to stop the students from voting. they even tried to steal the ballot boxes. Canadians don’t even see how wrong that is. That is fascist. Another country’s media said, how badly Harper is destroying Democracy in Canada. Our Civil Rights and Liberties are being taken away from us. Canadians don’t see this, but other country’s can???

Even when people hear, Harper is a Reformer and a Neo-Nazi. That he founded the Northern Foundation Party, in 1989, they still don’t see it. Deborah Grey, was gushing praise for Harper, she said he is still a Reformer. Even in Germany many people said, watch out for Hitler. They didn’t see the evil of him, until it was far too late.

Goebbels was Hitler’s propaganda machine, the press were only permitted to print, what he told them. The smart people got out of Germany. That country was pulverized for what? The glory of a madman?

In England, a Conservative M.P. Aiden Burley, lost his job for attending a Nazi themed stag party. One wore a Nazi uniform and gave the Hitler-Nazi salute. The party was in France, and is under investigation by France. P.M. Cameron, did not want to fire Burley, they had to force him to do so.

Cameron is a very good friend of Harper’s. Rumor has it, they have been meeting in secret, to sneak the dirty tar sands oil into England. Who knows what else they are consorting. P.M. Cameron, was gushing about Harper, singing his praises to high heaven. Anyone friendly with Harper and Campbell, you most certainly can’t trust. Everything they touch, they foul. Then we do, have the criminal Gordon Campbell doing Harper’s dirty work in England. The poison is being spread.

Canada went to war for England, to stop Fascist Dictatorships. I think our young Canadian boys, died for nothing. Churchill must be turning over in his grave. He would have throttled Cameron. He would have run Campbell right out of England, or perhaps put him in prison. He would have stomped Harper into the ground, like the worm that he is. Treason used to be a very serious crime. A hanging by the neck crime. Canadians accept treason and fascism, without batting an eye. There is serious doubt, Harper won the election on the up and up.

    Hello,
    Thank you for reading this.

I am very concerned about CBC news reporting – in fact I am more than concerned I am disturbed by the way News reports are being made on CBC.

For instance: James Cudmore was just on air – purportedly reporting about debate that was cut off in parliament however, it wasn’t really a report about debate. Mr.Cudmore’s report was an attempt to legitimize the Harper Government’s anti democratic act of cutting off debate.

Mr Cudmore listed various transgressions made by individual MEMBERS of the House of Commons and tried to equate name calling or other improprieties as though that was the same thing as rendering useless the function of Parliament.

The Harper majority government made an egregious attack on democracy and Mr Cudmore just excused that on national radio.

Susan Lund expressed this same opinion recently saying: there was no point in debate because the Harper Government has a majority and would pass the bill anyway. STOP RIGHT THERE

If we do not have debate in the House of Commons – we have a dictatorship/rule by privy council.

That CBC would broadcast propaganda under the guise of News is outrageous. the above examples are not News report – those were Pro Harper reports.

I am not the only person who has noticed this type of reporting – it appears to be a trend. I would like the Ombudsman to examine this practice. I would like to see a rational comparison between the use of Government funded media historically (as recorded from Germany (pre WWII) and perhaps the use of state funded Iraq media before the US took down Sadam Hussain)- We need to know if the CBC mistakes pre-cede tyranny. If the CBC has become the Conservative Broadcast System – it is time to inform the public – so we at least know what is happening.

When do we say stop to the editorial use of CBC as a tool for defending a rogue Government? Debate in Parliament is a fundamental part of a democracy.

We can’t know the future but certainly, CBC should be reporting facts on the workings of parliament without an editorial slant on why we should accept the censorship of debate. We must always be given factual information in order to decide for ourselves if we need to stand against a Fascist dictatorship should one try to take over our Country.

    Thank you
