A data base for the mentally ill? Armed guards at schools? Or my favourite, the only a “good” guy with a gun can protect against a “bad” guy with a gun?
As for that data base ol’ Wayne Lapierre flapped his gums about, can we put him and the rest of the NRA on top of that list? Better still, can they have Lapierre committed? He is a danger to himself and others. I mean, after listening to that, can anyone say he is the poster child for mental health?
Let’s put armed guards in schools. I mean, that would cost way more than banning those assault rifles like bush masters, M-16s and AK-47s which everyone knows are not for hunting. So where would that money come from, Mr. NRA? Oh, silly me! Let’s lay off some of those pesky unecessary unionized teachers! Sorry.
And what happens when that ‘good’ guy with the gun one day goes ‘bad’?? Something many pro-gun, anti-gun control types tend to forget. That tends to happen more often than not.

It seems that Mr. Lapierre thinks that there are plenty of suitable “volunteers” ready to step up to the plate for those positions: retired cops, military vets, ex-security guards, etc. He definitely should be on the top of the list for that mental illness registry.
